I am trying to learn writing my own Remote Maps (or Codecs), the info I got was :
1. TUTORIALS Control Remote BY REASON STUDIOS 3 February 2006 (https://www.reasonstudios.com/blog/tuto ... ol-remote/)
and
2. Supported MIDI keyboards and control surfaces (https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us ... l-surfaces)
Yet I found webpage no. 1 is outdated, and the problems are:
1. I could not find where is this ‘Reason Preferences > Keyboards & Control Surfaces ‘ to go further with the job
2. At the last two paragraph, no download at ‘ Get it in pdf format here or tab delimited text format here. ‘, both just link to https://www.reasonstudios.com/blog/tuto ... ng-reason/
Would appreciate it if anyone could help me to shed light on doing this customized Remote Maps & Codecs
Remote Maps & Codecs
I'm not a guru, but this video helped me a lot to understand. Writing a remote map is pretty simple. Writing a codec tho seems to be a little more complicated.

- File location you will find here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7514631
- Download Remote SDK here: https://developer.reasonstudios.com/dow ... r-products
- Reason Preferences > Keyboards & Control Surfaces is now Edit->Preferences->Midi
- Export a list of all remotable items of a specific device from inside Reason by select the device, goto File->Export Device Remote Info
- Once found, open and read matching (same developer, same mididevice) maps and codecs with a decent tool like Notepad++, VisualStudioCode or the like
- search for other sources, like this one: https://github.com/carlosedp/Reason-Kor ... ntrol2.lua
- not to forget the advanced search option of ReasonTalk
