Upgrade now, get R12 later?

Have anyone succeeded emailing Props sales asking for upgrade to R11 while being allowed to upgrade to R12 for free? With M1 Macs we are little bit stuck - I am on 9.5 and some things do not render properly. I do not wan to wait for another 7 months, who knows when R12 is out.

It is not that bad, but I would love to have an exception from the team because of Apple Silicon.

Typically, the grace period is 30 days or less before the announcement of the next version. The announcement of the next version is usually about 1-2 months before the release (most recently it's been within a month).

For instance, Reason 9 was announced on May 19, 2016. The grace period only went back to May 1:

Reason 11 was announced August 26, 2019. The grace period only went back to August 1:

They seem to like to go with the first of the month rather than 30 days back...

If you really want to be sure to get in on the grace period, wait until the announcement and upgrade then.

I guess another option would be to use Reason+ in the meantime.

If you haven't used it yet, the first 30 days is free.

There is also a promotion through Splice to try Reason+ for 90 days:

Hey just a heads up that Reason 11 upgrade is on sale and it mentions upgrade to Reason 12 included.

I think this is the first time I've seen mention of a new version being included ahead of an announcement. Typically you don't find out if you made the grace period until the day a new version is announced.

Just tried the same thing, but of course it won't let me add it to the basket. Shame. Might be worth having a word with JamesPember (who seems like a really decent guy), to see if something can be arranged.

I'm definitely in too, Gardinski, I would upgrade to R11 from R11 suite. That way I could actually test the high resolution beta

I'm genuinely intrigued why they mention "includes Reason 12 upgrade", considering like previously mentioned, the grace periods have been pretty slim, and we're apparently not even beta testing a version 12 release yet, just the high-res feature. I imagined R12 would be at least 4 months off.

You get R12 for free if you upgrade to R11 during (or perhaps after) the May Sale 2021! There is a huge banner on the top.

They haven't replied me yet (I did ask) but this is pretty official I guess. Upgrading!

No sorry mr figg I didnt ask that. I havent had a reply on facebook and maybe I will not get one but thought by asking at least it is on Matthias radar for when they publish more info and is more likely to be covered within. If reason 12 is just hi res I will probably give it a miss but thought I would ask as had just read stuff on this thread when the facebook post came up in my feed.

Doesn't matter if the upgrade's bought from us or a retailer, any upgrade or full version of Reason 11 registered starting May 1st is included in the grace period
