Not that there is a right way or wrong way.. just curious which method appears more popular around these parts...

I work for an agency called the Foreign Agricultural Service. Internally, we call it "eff-a-ess." We often get get contractors hawking their services to us. Almost invariably, they call it "Fass" or "Fazz." This annoys us to the point of wanting to throw ashtrays at them, except there's no smoking, so no ashtrays are avaialable.

Anyway, I call it a "daw," as in "DAWN® Dish Washing Liquid" without the "N."

I say daw as in the Russian word for yes. It takes too long to say D.A.W.

"Music prog" as opposed to "Synth prog".

Digital Audio Workstation or DAW seems pedantic, maybe it's initiatic because you're going to encounter more mouthfuls when grappling with terminology, should you proceed further.

I use both but DAW (Door) the majority of the time.

I came up with a joke:-

When is a daw not a daw?
When it's Reason lol!

The next poll - which term do you use:-

VST
Plug-In
Soft Synth ;-)

Same here, and it seems pretty much an industry standard according to those I work with (both in the studio and in the music press).

I avoid using the term altogether

"Music software thingy" seems to get the point across to most folks

I said DAW once, and felt embarrassed. So now I say DEE-AYE-DOUBLE-YOU

DAW sounds kinda weird.

Daw, as in a word.

The better question is how do you say moog?

Mogue

Or moog?

I saw DAW as a word.

But when it comes to GUI, I say the letters G-U-I. Hearing "gooey" is just weird lol

I have always pronounced it as in "there's a bit of a draught, eh, will you close the daw?"

Say "gooeye." That'll throw 'em off.

Poll is rigged by the Main Stream Media.

It's Dee-Aay-Doubleyou, believe me.

I say "dee-aa-double you" because saying "dah" makes me sounds like a moron.

I don't need any help with that.

Going from Digital Audio Workstation (a cumbersome 9 syllables) to DEE AYE DUB BLE YOU (five) is somewhat of a lame savings of syllables. If it was like VST, LSD. FBI (3), I'd feel somewhat comfortable rolling that off my tongue.
Dropping down to ONE syllable is the Holy Grail, however, so you know how I voted.
