Re: svenk goes traditional
I liked that. I didn't know anything about the myth/story but now I do, I think your music matches it - a fitting seascape. The only thing I might adjust a bit is the cymbal crashes - I wonder if they'd sound better a little lower and less separated from the rest of the music.

Re: (Maia Synth) - Trouble Ahead
I try not to read others' comments before I write anything, but I saw your 'video game music' reply and I'd say it's true of this track. But that's not a bad thing, is it? It would go with an exciting game anyway. It sounds well-produced to me: powerful and professional.

Re: Round and Down (Folk rock jazz, maybe)
I like the music and vocals, pleasant listening to this! Parts in this that sounds Beatles to me Is that Kantele/Dulcimer in the intro? On my system (small Genelecs+sub) the vocals sounds a little bit too strong in my ears; other than that, thumbs up. Thanks for the feedback Jappe. The Beatles! Swo...

Re: [Rock/Metal] Crashing Waves
Yes, very big.
Do you have to record the guitar with the fuzz effect? - meaning you can't change the amount of fuzz after. Or is there a way of adding the fuzz to the un-effected audio? - so that you can adjust it to fit with the rest of the tracks when you're mixing.

Round and Down (Folk rock jazz, maybe)
I've been mixing this today. Will probably realise the various errors of my ways when I get some distance and listen to it again tomorrow.
Criticism/feedback welcome.
Thanks,
Pete

Hi Jappe,
I haven't been on the forum for quite a while so it's good to come back and hear that you have overcome your former reticence about singing. You seem to have really found your voice. Well done!

Re: (Ambient Album) Dark Ice & White Snow
Very relaxing. The track titles fit the music very well, which is probably how you wrote it, so maybe I should say the music fits the track titles very well. Which did come first? - the music or the titles? Dark Ice sounds like a glacier slowly moving. I didn't look at the title of the second track ...

Re: Proof-listen for me?
It sounded to me that as the vocals increase in volume everything gets a bit too trebly in general; the high end sounds a bit hissy - so I'd guess there might be too much boost of high frequencies.

[/quote] Yes, I like it, music & video. Video really adds a great dimension to music, and I need to start making something from my own terabytes of home videos (I assume this is really a family video from your home!) From my own childhood there's only pictures, that can be useful too, but when my ki...

Good production. I don't think the Swedish Tourist Board will be contacting you to use this. Very powerful; it might scare children.

This is the first video I've made for one of my songs. Be warned: I found tinkering with the video editor very similar to tweaking in Reason; this could become addictive. As for the song, it's got bongos and guitars and singing and that kind of stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm90GvG__SA&t=11...

(Off-kilter rock) Little One
This is a song I wrote last year. I've remixed and mastered it, and it's the second release (25th September) by Short Songs For Quick Thinkers, a music label in England. All done in Reason 9. https://soundcloud.com/peter-branscombe/little-one All opinions/criticism welcome - I'm definitely still lea...

Re: new track (ambiente)
Nice sounds. I think it would benefit from varying the little 3-hit drum roll that repeats at the end of a lot of the bars. If you don't want to change the drums I think lowering their level could also help, because then the more melodic elements would come to the fore.

I like it too. The guitar took it up another level when that came in. I think one of its strengths is that none of the genres get the upper hand.

Lovely gentle intro. I'd bring the monks in earlier, and have them stay around longer.

Re: (Melodic)Melodie Idea
I'd say vocals don't have to be "good" - authentic (not trying to be someone else) and in tune is more than enough. You can do it!
