Re: (Trance) Nostalgia
Nice one. Instead of ending it so early you could develop it with a different instrument taking the lead melody; an electric guitar would be an obvious choice.

Nice. I think the long reverbs/echoes put me in mind of mountains rather than trees though.

Re: (Martian) The Martian
I can imagine this being video game music - probably some bloke with a sword running through a desolate landscape or deserted castle, chopping up various ... Martians, I suppose. The low rhythm that comes in represents him running, and then when the rhythm stops is when he's looking round to carry o...

Re: [experimental 90s techtrance) Timeout
The first 30 seconds I think you could lose a lot of listens, half that space, bring the drums in at 15 seconds or fine some more elements to fill the space. - That's a coincidence: I was thinking the opposite! I'd have preferred you not to bring the drums in so soon, or at all. When the drums did ...

Re: (Lithium Synth Demo Song) - Virus
I liked the interesting sounds, particularly in the intro. The big drums got in the way a bit for me, but it's a good demo of the synth.

Re: (Guitar-based) song about a popular psychopath
High pass on everything to a degree (minimum 66 to max 200Hz roughly); low pass on vocals (10KHz), both keyboards (2.2 K and 5.2K), and bass (575Hz). Thanks for the question. I hadn't realised I'd cut everything below 66Hz. Elephants would be furious, but I'm not very good at (or capable of?) monito...

Name that psycho. Anything you'd change about the mix? Thanks if you take time to listen.

Re: (Doom, rock, progressive) NEiBERG: Helvetti maan päällä
Interesting. I wasn't bothered by the sound of the drums but I think a bit more variation over such a long track could help. Of course, use any language you want! I think your natural voice would be a better way to distinguish yourself from other vocoder users.

Re: Bats Part III(Soumdscapes)
Nice. My favourite part was the high female-sounding voice from about 40 seconds until it fades perhaps a minute later - it's good to have something like that to follow and keep the attention through a soundscape.

Re: (Guitarry and bongoey) A song about a towel
Thanks for taking the time and interest Jappe! Yeah, I'd be happy to hear what you've done. Apart from the Master Compressor, I didn't use any compression on the vocals, so I'm not surprised they sounded like they needed some taming. I was keen for the words to be audible, but you're probably right ...

Re: (Guitarry and bongoey) A song about a towel
Thanks very much for checking Jappe! I haven't had a chance to do anymore to this song actually. Did you notice any obvious deficiencies? A friend and I are trying to do a song a month this year, and with my limited spare time I haven't had a chance to get back to Towel. Haven't started March's song...

(guitar-based) Lampposts (George Formby not included)
https://soundcloud.com/peter-branscombe/lampposts Any mixing tips, or notice any other problems? I find it difficult to pan stuff without the mix becoming lopsided - I want the vocals, bass, occasional lead in the centre, and the rhythm guitar would be too heavy to have out on one side on its own. ...

Re: (Blues) Polysonic Blues - 100% Reason, 100% stock devices
Good one. Pleasant listening. I was expecting it to be more formulaic judging from your description of 'classic' sounds but it was more interesting than that. The piano trills were my favourite part. Criticisms? I think the drums showed your influences a bit - slightly Kraftwerk in their sound or la...

Re: (weird electronica) - Giant
I was hoping for insane weird! It sounds very professional. I agree with the soundtrack idea. At first I thought it could go with a sci-fi thing but then it put me in mind of a modern TV crime drama. Have they done one about a really tall detective yet? - Giant. No, I thought not.

Re: (vocals/guitar) All Your Sorrow
Hi Jappe, I like the fact that you dreamt it first - that happens with me occasionally - and did with Paul McCartney for Hey Jude. Sometimes the vocals are staccato, and I think it could be interesting to play staccato guitar with the staccato vocals, and then smoother flowing guitar with the smooth...

Re: (IDM/Ambient) Die Mathematik der fliegenden Vierecke
I like the opening and the general sounds you’ve used. I think the song would be better if the drums faded into the background occasionally, because they’re quite upfront but not particularly interesting. Doing that could also make the song more dynamic and it would highlight the more interesting so...

Re: (Guitarry and bongoey) A song about a towel
Thanks ZFS, funky (code) wasn't what I was going for!
Actually, it plays fine on mine - I've tried on two different systems.
Without meaning to sound like I'm pleading for attention, has anyone else been able to play it okay?
Thanks,
Pete

I haven't done much tweaking so I suppose it's more at the demo stage.
Thanks if you take time to listen.
