Re: (House) Jeg Elsker Deg ( 4 tracks EP)

Very pleasant listening. Sounds very polished, too. I think it is the impressive depth of the different instruments that gives it that polished quality.

Haha! Thanks for listening Phillip.

Re: (Drone) Convent

Ah, so the children went to the playground and ended up in a convent. Thanks for sharing it. What I originally meant was that I would have liked to hear some of the unaltered audio within the final track, but it was just a passing thought.

("strange jazz" apparently) A Matter of Fact

Hi, this will not be everyone's (anyone's?) cup of tea, but I'd be grateful for any feedback.

No VSTs were harmed in the making of this music.

Thanks, Pete

Re: (Acoustic) Never

It sounds very professional and impeccably clean. I was expecting some thunderous accompaniment to come in, but was glad it didn't because that would have been too obvious. Having said that, I think it would be improved with some more low end, even if only occasionally. Perhaps in the chorus part, i...

Re: (Drone) Convent

I would have liked to hear some of the unaltered ambient recording, to contrast with the treated version. Or maybe I did hear it but didn't realise that that's what a convent sounds like.

Re: [TRAP & INDI & who knows what more] Mixed Signals

Apt title! If you wanted to make the signals less mixed you could get rid of the drums. It had a different mood until they came in; they seemed to be what mixed it up and make it less unique. But as it's more sound design than song, I don't suppose you care! I liked the chopped up vocals.

(Unpop) Radicalise Me

A song about the resurgence of extremism, appropriately available to listen to online.

Re: (Anti-80s-Synth/HipHop/Pop) Cruel Intentions

Good. I think the vocals could be more immersed in the track. Or maybe they have been recorded too quietly, so that when you put them at a loud enough level they sound too close.

This is a song with a story. If you don't like the music, you can listen for the story, haha! Guitars, drums, and keyboards with a sprinkling of harpsichord.

Thanks for any listens or feedback.

Re: (fusion) How It Works

Nice to hear something jazzy on here! Some of the drums sound too thin to me. At least, when the xylophone (or whatever it is) comes in there seem to be too many thin/stick-like sounds. Of course, you may want it like that. I liked the xylophoney bits most.

Re: (indie-pop) Henry of Wall - Could It Work?

Yes, I think it could work, but I think it would benefit from being shorter and the drums being less clinical/hard. That's my smartarse answer, but it was pleasant listening. The reason I say it could be shorter is that I think it would have more impact if it was a 3-minute pop song. I think you cou...

(rocakabilly jazz in 6/4) Daddy's Nightmare

Of course it's not rockabilly jazz but like others here I have trouble categorising my own music. I also had trouble trying to tame this frenzied song but it was an enjoyable struggle. https://soundcloud.com/peter-branscombe/daddys-nightmare Technical detail: used samples from the Art of Brushes ref...

Re: (80's vibe Synthpop)

What does it remind me of? Almost exactly as you wrote: 80s synthpop with a bit of more contemporary, harder electronic stuff. My favourite parts are when the more powerful stabbing bass synth sound is there at about 2 and 4 minutes, which makes me think the higher floaty synth notes might also suit...

Re: (BoomBap/HipHop/Pop) FYI

Nice one. I like it. I think different drums/percussion (more organic and heavier, though not louder) would suit it better. At least, to me, the snare sounds too thin and uninteresting to be so upfront.

And you won't read this much on here: it could do with being longer! :puf_bigsmile:

I'd say your subject line covers all the relevant genres! It sounds very professional to me -- meaning you sound in complete control of your instruments ... in a way which I am not. :)
