Re: What Reason really is...

After much thought and mixing a project on Reason earlier this year I've finally settled on what Reason is to me. I've been using it since 4 and to me Reason is what it was in the beginning an amazing place for synth based production. The amount of Synth RE we've gotten, Antidote, Expanse, Zero, Pr...

Re: Vocoder I hate you

I don't know if you're still looking for help with the vocoder, but I was over the weekend and after similar experiences to yours, I found this tutorial did the trick. Less than a minute long, but if you pause it as you follow each step it'll work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUTHMR_BnBM&index=...

Re: Props tutorial series returns: Super Neat Beat Cheat Sheet series

I have Reason 9. I tried to follow along with Trip Hop tutorial, but, when I load Kong, Reset Kong, navigate to Dr Rex Drum Loops, there is no option to expand the loop file into it's component slices?! Does anyone have a clue as to why this may be occurring? Thanks.

Update: Figured it out.

Re: ReasonTalk Guitar Patches

Does anyone have a patch/preset that will give a nice organic acoustic sounding high treble electric reggae type guitar? Thanks.

Re: A question of samples. Part 2

Ok, so I'm going to go with 'no' as the answer for now. Appreciate the feedback though. If there is eventually something that can do this to a high quality, I'd certainly look at it, otherwise, I'll just have to keep scratching around, or even better, get to know a few singers who can give me some d...

Re: Guitar rigs

Have you checked this thread maintained by jfrichards? https://www.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7490694 These are usually effects, so you can add them to any clean guitar sound, like the ones from the FSB. That is so awesome - I did search but missed that topic somehow. Thank you, you have ma...

Re: ReasonTalk Guitar Patches

Wow, this is amazing! Thank you so much. A lot of these seem to need Re's that I don't have, but the ones that I can use sound great - they have already started inspiring new tunes. :re:

Guitar rigs

Hi all, can you help me find some guitar rig presets and/or patches, or point me in the right direction. Free is preferred but maybe a decent refill if it's well recommended? Thanks reasonistas.

A question of samples. Part 2

Another question about samples. Do any of the samplers allow taking the lyric out of a song i.e. can they split an audio track into components so that you can pull out the bits you want to use? Apologies for the noob question. :geek:

Re: Playing Keyboard

I'm liking the sound of that. Learning a musical instrument can be so frustrating, but when you have a breakthrough, unimaginably rewarding. It doesn't make sense to limit yourself with your instrument ... I might need a bigger studio!

Re: Playing Keyboard

I had the Korg Nano, pretty sweet little device, but swapped it for an Akai MPK Mini which has a nicer feel, and pads etc. If I was left to my own devices, pretty soon the whole house would turn into a recording studio.

Re: Synapse's The Legend Synthesizer Song Challenge

Hey there - I am re-submitting a remixed, cleaner, slightly more produced and tidied up version. Please substitute this track over my previous version if that is ok? As before everything is The Legend, I used 15 in all. even the Vocoded voice is through The Legend. I substituted Kong for Rex drums, ...

Re: Synapse's The Legend Synthesizer Song Challenge | The Announcement

I used The Legend for everything. I added some e-guitar and a Rex drum patch to complement the existing The Legend kicks and snares, otherwise, it's as it says on the box. The 80's is back baby! Hope you like it. :ugeek:

Thanks for all the help Reasonistas, as usual a great range of helpful and sympathetic responses. Vocoder I hate you

I have now spent some hours watching and copying tutorials on how to use a Vocoder to achieve 'Robot Voice'. The problem is, all the tutorials are using different versions of Reason (I've got 9) and so I'm clearly missing a key connection somewhere. This is really p!ssing me off as I know it's a sim...

Playing Keyboard

I am learning to play music from scratch. I could have started this 20 years ago, but now is as good a time as any. I have been playing guitar on and off for a little while, and that is progressing well. I'm picking up a bit of music theory along the way, which is much needed. I wanted to find out i...

Re: Building sound to add suspense before the big drop

ok, that is pretty sweet and that gives me a lot of direction. To really achieve what I need though, I also need something to build slowly bars one to three, dip then peak toward the end of the 4th bar to really build momentum - should be easy enough to achieve. Thanks so much for the shared file, r...
