Try checking your audio interface settings . Your sample rate . try 512 or higher maybe .

This will mean the hardware version of an SSL is not a Pro mixing console . It too only has 4 bands and one filter slope .

This is how i feel about mixing with pink noise . But if it works for you then by all means do it .

i would try high filter first to get rid of the lows and some low mids . Then heavy on the compression , bringing out the breaths more . Then try a little high shelf . It`s kind of like a telephone effect to me . And last but not least some distortion or maybe saturation . Just a guess
