Re: Chenille BBD Chorus Ensemble vs Reason Studios Polar

As choruses go, Chenille is my go-to (even with Quartet in the picture, it still is) and I have never found a use for Polar (but then I don't play guitar). YMMV, trial them. I do agree with Boombastix' milk and vodka image though, to me they're entirely different devices with only a very small over...

Just drag the audio clip onto a MIDI lane, it will be converted to MIDI automatically.

Re: ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION about the proposed "REs with known bugs" list

So we are picking sides now, huh? Sheeeet just got real! ;) Hej Wongo. I don’t think it really comes down to who’s side you’re on. We’re not fighting each other. Dammit guys, I meant I'm siding with Joey's argument !! :D :D :D I know we're in good company here, and I enjoy this thread because we're...

Re: ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION about the proposed "REs with known bugs" list

My two cents... While I understand the basic premise of this list, I'm not sure it would have the intended effect. Basically, what we want is 1) to have bug-free devices and 2) warn potential buyers not to buy duds. But imho devs can be split into three categories: 1) those who have left the buildin...

Re: Massive X !

Newest update, load your own samples in the noise osc. You can load 1 or 2 samples now and route them into the filter (or after the filter if you prefer). That means you now technically can have 7 oscillator going into the filter (WT1+2, NS1+2, A/B/C). Since the noise osc loops as default, it is ea...

Re: Who is Sef Nitty?

Isn't it weird that he sells "free eXode refill bundle"?? He might have an arrangement with eXode, but the idea of including free stuff in a paying bundle is weird.

Re: The Shop does not show my purchases

This isn't on them. Font loading requires a hit to Google servers, which require DNS resolution, and DNS resolvers are saturated everywhere because of the quarantine, so having a one or two seconds delay isn't surprising in this context. Plot twist: that delay is there even if you use Google's DNS ...

Re: The Shop does not show my purchases

And at present when I go to the store front some of the fonts display in a serif font (like Times) for about two seconds before correcting themselves. It's all a bit amateur. This isn't on them. Font loading requires a hit to Google servers, which require DNS resolution, and DNS resolvers are satur...

I believe there is also a size limit for refills, not sure exactly what this limit is, something like 2gb or 3.5gb.
Perhaps someone else knows what the size limit is?
4 GB.

Re: Refill Packer - what formats?

You can't avoid testing all the wavs to check which one is fawlty - I mean, faulty - but doing it by dichotomy is the fastest method. Make a copy of the Pack 5 folder first. Take out half of the files from Pack 5, put them in a folder somewhere. - Try to create a Refill. - If it works, the faulty wa...

Re: Refill Packer - what formats?

Did you remember to place an "info.txt" file, correctly filled, at the root of the folder you want to pack? Otherwise it won't even start packing IIRC.

Re: ReSpire pretty heavy on CPU right?

They updated the VST last week with drag and drop to the mod matrix and an improved preset management, and they have previously announced they were working on a 2.0 version which would be ported to a Rack Extension as well, so there is still hope... The announcement was over a year ago though. MrFig...

Re: TAL Filter2 for Sidechain in Reason?

You can: when using a compressor with sidechaining enabled for instance, you have optional Audio In inputs at the back of the VST device that become available. Okay cool. This didn't work for me when I tried to sample into Halion 6 in Reason. In Cubase it takes audio from the sidechain input. I plu...

Re: TAL Filter2 for Sidechain in Reason?

Can you sidechain into VSTs in Reason though? I thought it was a vst3 thing. Do you mean this VST doesn’t work with/inside Reason (for sidechaining)? Yes, it does, but it's a pumper, not a compressor, which means that it isn't basing its algorithm on envelope tracking, but on timing. In other words...

This is probably a silly question (since nobody else has asked it) but how do we actually obtain the synth to do this? If a copy of the synth is a prize, is it expected that entrants use a subscription to try out the synth? Or is there some other option that I've completely missed? You can trial Ra...
