I ? Reason, and The Beatles

I'll admit that Sgt. Peppers took me a while to get into. I think I was too young or otherwise wasn't in the right frame of mind for it the first time I heard it. It's full of cool stuff, though. The whole Beatles catalog is, really! "A Day In The Life" is an easy favorite, both for the composition ...

I abuse reverb. Nearly every song I write involves some stereo delay with 3 steps on the left channel and 4 steps on the right channel. It's one of the default send effects in my song template, and it almost always works wonders for adding some subtle stereo depth and rhythmic complexity. I'm surpri...

I love this idea, perhaps a locked sticky that suggests people employ 'best practice' for the consideration of others. In some instances, nested quotes are valuable, but for the most part they are redundant.. I mean if you're already in the thread then you're following the whole discussion, and quo...

I was thinking earlier today how interesting it would be if somehow all of us were put in a room to watch each other work on a track in real time.  With reason's very open ended workflow possibilities I have a feeling we would drive each other crazy because we all have our little quirks and things ...

While on the topic of screen real estate, what do people think of the nested quoting? It drives me batty. Just the other day, a multiple nested reply took up the height of an entire 27" screen, and the respondent only made a one-line comment ! It'd be good to have a guideline advising people to tri...

making the best bass

For the sake of simplicity, I mostly use the standard waveforms, rather than playing with all the numbered special ones. Not to say they can't be useful, but I've never taken the time to get intimately familiar with them, and I've still found Subtractor to be quite capable! The Phase and +/* control...

ReasonTalk colors

I think the current color scheme is fine. It should be noted, though, that there's no need to truncate hexadecimal colors to "web colors" anymore -- those are an artifact of bygone days when computer monitors displayed in 256 colors and web browsers had a specific color palette that they were restri...

Actually, I do have one minor complaint: the larger font size when browsing the list of threads. It's bigger than the text used elsewhere, and seems unnecessary to me. I'd rather be able to see more of the list without scrolling.

What happened to MIDI sites?

What sort of midi files are you seeking out? Midi files have gone down in popularity over the past decade, but there's still some activity in places that have a use for midis. There are loads of fantastic original compositions coming out of musicians in the classic Doom community, well worth hearing...

ATTENTION Reason Heads!!!!

If you want to do this, you should upload them to another server like imgur.com rather than hotlinking them from the PUF, since the PUF isn't going to exist anymore in a few days.

Digging the logo!

That gigantic logo that appeared a moment ago with the orange and black speech bubbles or whatever they were. Way too big. Consider that some users like to view forums at their place of work, and that one really stands out from across the office.   :nono: It could be made smaller. The current logo ...

Forum Growth Question?

Given that their new website plan includes getting rid of their forum, and their 2014-era design only featured a small link at the very bottom of the page, I would be surprised to see Propellerhead officially link to us. Hopefully we'll be able to grow our userbase via Google search results. By bein...

Hello everyone! Thanks for setting up the new forum Brent. :) Great to see you here, Tom! One of my "fun" jobs will be lining up un-titled screen grabs from my photo bucket account with posts I've made in the forums. Haven't tried yet, but I'm assuming linked pics won't "copy" with text.  :frown: I...

The Incredible Baron: SNES-inspired game soundtrack, now complete!

Wow, great work esselfortium! I'm inspired by a lot of video game music from when I was younger so I know how important video game music can be.   It can really shape someones life. Your work sounds instant-classic, auto-memorable. Thanks so much for the kind words! I've occasionally had my worries...

Humongous signatures

Some sort of rules on image/embed sizes for signatures would be good. I'd argue that keeping signatures as small, simplistic, and unobtrusive as possible makes for the best forum reading experience. The forum should encourage the focus to be on the content of the posts, not on 500-pixel-tall animate...

Thanks for getting this set up, Lunesis! I was concerned about how well a migration could realistically go, but I already see a lot of familiar names here, so that's great :) Hopefully word will continue to spread, so that interested folks won't end up falling through the cracks. Is the forum theme ...
