(Indie) Once For Luck feat. Reason Pianos

Re: Fingerpicking Nylon - A-List Guitarist in the shop

Can somebody who's trialing it please list which chords are included. Pop chords included fewer chords than Acoustic guitar for example. Which does this have? It recognizes maj, min, dim7, 7th, maj7, aug, b5, min6, 6th, m7b5, sus2, sus4, min7 and mmaj7. Compared to Acoustic Guitar, only the mmaj7 i...

Re: Need some help

I'm really not sure what you used but I would say that the lead is very distorted so perhaps start with something versatile like Thor (or maybe Malstrom) and work with drives in Scream. BTW I am a firm believer that when something is lost then any attempt to recreate has to be something new or I am...

Awesome news. Love Hydronexius. Will this have a trap feel to it like some of your other stuff?

Re: Reasonistas Re coming

I think we're gonna see a tsunami of new REs in the coming months. Very exciting. Why do you think so? There have been some new REs being teased and some folks in the know (beta testers, etc.) have been saying we've got some big stuff coming. All very vague but I have hope since there hasn't been a...

Re: Reason Trio Bundle worth it?

I'd say Reason Pianos alone is worth that. Best piano sounding library in Reason for me. Sympathetic resonance is beautiful, and there are tons of great patches from effects heavy ones to natural ones. Three different pianos mic'd in lots of different ways. I use the drums and bass too, but the pia...

Re: parsec patch refills?

thanks for the input JNeffLind. actually i have very varied interests and they all sound pretty good to me from the samples. sure makes that super-big re up one i originally mentioned look worthwhile. ;) If it helps at all, I thought the re-up one had a bit more of an electronic/edm flavor while th...

Re: parsec patch refills?

In my experience, DNA Labs does great work. Their Parsec refills (I believe there are several) are all strong. I've got all of them and love them all. Listen to the demos for sure and pick what sounds most usable to you.

As a preset guy myself, Predator makes the most sense as it has tons of presets. Antidote is a good choice as well, as it is very versatile.

I believe I asked him about this in the past and there were no repeat patches. All are original sets in their own right.

Re: new Zero patches from DNA Labs

I love DNA Labs stuff. In my experience it definitely has more of an urban/trap/hip-hop vibe than anything else. I don't know if these fit that mold but that would be my guess since that seems to be their wheelhouse. I'll probably buy these but unfortunately won't get around to testing them out for ...

Re: Can anyone vouch for the DNA Labs stuff?

You've got them pegged pretty well. They are best for trap I'd say if you like thinking in genres. I love them personally and actually did a review of a bunch I got a while ago. Very cool and unique sounds, even if most have that trap character, they're still quite varied.

Re: Easiest way to make animations for music tracks?

Yes, it is not only about the cost of After Effects, I guess it will take quite some time to learn too. And I already struggle hard to find time for making music... BTW Very nice singing voice in the video! Thanks for the kind words man. I've been rehabbing my throat for two years after a trauma th...

Re: Easiest way to make animations for music tracks?

https://youtu.be/Dlu0orb1_co This was done in After Effects and Premiere Pro. You might be better off hiring someone to make you a basic waveform video since it takes a long time to learn After Effects. If you know how to handle Waveforms a simple waveform video shouldn't take more than an hour so y...

shoot me a PM here on the board, and include some references :) Did you get the message I sent you with my rough draft of a video as a "reference." I believe he referred to Selig as Tom Selleck. I'm pretty sure Selig is not Tom Selleck. The names are similar though.

I just reread and saw you're also doing a youtube channel. I've been toying with the idea of starting a songwriting blog, just with general tips and tricks I've picked up, bits of theory, lyrical tricks, arrangement, etc. I was hoping to keep them short and sweet, about one to two minutes each and d...

I may have some time to help out, except that my technical knowledge is pretty limited. I could probably be of use though proofreading or even working from bullet points maybe. Not sure how helpful that is.
