It depends on how you want to use it, really, but I would not recommend it. None of its sounds are to my taste. Scream is amazing, as are many others. For distortion, I would even recommend DC-9 by blamsoft. Never heard a more "molten" sound from another distortion fx device.

One thing I would ask is did you like Reason 2 as it was or 3 or 4 or 5 or 8, etc? Each iteration, like others have pointed out, is what it is because people had requested features. So in essence, you like the Reason which is a mixture of Prop's vision and consumers' ideas/requests.

You could convert your wav files to rex files if you're in reason 8 (could be done in earlier versions, too, perhaps, but I'm not too sure about that).

It was more of a regret for not having waited more, because synchronous and A-list Elec Power Chords went on sale (in the backline rig bundle) just a few days after I bought them. Wish I'd have waited more, because I did not use them in between that time.
