"Could not load item from Refill [refill name]" - what?
Does anyone else get this error when trying to access patches from refills they've saved to a Favorites list? In the browser the icon next to the file is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. I know the refill is there (I *just saved the favorite*), it's a legitimate refill (i.e. not cracke...

Anyone tracking with EQ + Compression?
I love recording with processing when I can - for bass I go direct into my Focusrite ISA One looping an FMR RNLA into the inserts. I had great results using a cheap JoeMeek ThreeQ for guitars, using the EQ to bump 3k going in...big difference. A pro friend swears by his ART VLA on vox. So you don...

I haven't read the whole thread, but FWIW I use RsTouch and it's great - does exactly what I need it too, control transport remotely so I can be across the room in a vocal booth.

Hammond B3 Organ options in Reason Comparison - and others...
Wow, thanks for doing this - I have Rotor, the JP RE, and the Selig Refill, and - like your demo - none come close to the original for me. I just paid to have B3 put on a song - wasn't cheap, but man, no way I could have pulled that off in Reason with my skills and sounds. Good stuff.

Hey this is lovely. I could have used a little more wetness/reverb/delay on the piano, make it spacier. Also the jaws harp bouncy sound at 1:36 throws me, feels like it's from another song. It also overstays it's welcome, you need new and different stuff coming in I think. But man overall beautif...

This is cool, love the sound choices, very cool. Definitely feels a little like the tracks need some EQ love in a final mix.

Love this. Great track. Love the frailty. Feels like there are a couple of pitch issues - I'd correct outside of reason as it doesn't do well w/ low male vocals. Also vocal pops *way* out for me sometimes - ride or compress. Finally I agree w/ comments below that chorus gets a little same-y with t...

Mechanical Music Box ReFill
What the seller isn't telling you is that yes, the refill has some great music box sample patches, but it also has some amazing combi patches which use the music box samples as springboards to new and wonderful places. Love it.

Thank you, I appreciate this - I will absolutely try this synth again.zvork wrote:Don't forget for those of you who trialed version 1.0 that the trial period has been reset recently. You should see that performance has been vastly improved.

The demo sounds are really nice. I wonder why the reviews are so low. I remember when it came out I tried it, and was totally - I mean totally - underwhelmed by the presets. Like they all sounded like mud to me. There was a huge back/forth on the PUF between tweakers /sound designers who said the...

I'm working on a Mellotron refill
Since I trialed ReTron I kind of fell in love with that sound of slow attack, spread out pads they have on each sound set. I've been building combis just with the sounds in the FSB...so so sweet. My favorite has flutes, strings, and choir stacked. Wish I had some of the more obscure samples like ...

Thors Hammer - Free Refill with almost 4000 patches
There really are some wonderful patches here, and so many. The only gripe I have - and it seems churlish to complain about so generous a refill - is that in none of the patches I tried had the Mod Wheel routed to anything...seemed like a missed opportunity. Good stuff.

Neptune update!
I have a few major problems with Neptune. First it's lousy on low voices - I get a ton of artifacts, it messes up the signal, even at conservative settings. The other thing is that it's really hard to toggle easily. With Bypass you get latency weirdness and a glitch. If you just toggle "Pitch Ad...

POLL: Have you purchased a Propellerhead Booster Pack?
Obviously you can't "demo" ReFills, but the store page misleading in any way? Could you not see the products contained loops, or did you expect more samples and less loops? Indie Rock Drums - The Loop Loft [/size][/b] [/b] To accurately produce the sound and feel of these loops, we immersed ours...

+1 for Exode's Massive Synthesis Refill. (need to login to PH)
The Kevin Sunray Epic refills are massive and all use stock devices.
This is great free refill, although the patches are too loud: http://www.roberttoddsound.com/Nightclubseriesgold.html

Selig DeEsser - other uses (besides vocals)?
I asked about this on the old board. It may have other uses, but it is 100% designed for vocal sibilance AFAIK, and does that extremely well. It is not a dynamic EQ that dips at a set frequency at a set bandwidth (like the de-esser combinator), so it doesn't work for me on acoustic fret noise, or ...

TEMPO MAPPING !!!
None of these methods are optimal for building a tempo map for a song with tempo fluctuations. It's pretty standard in other DAWs for >10 years that you can play in a MIDI click over the audio and then build the map from that, which is really the optimal solution, no? Ryan's method works, but see...

Why don't you buy the sheet music and do it yourself? http://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/se/ID_No/117795/Product.aspx I don't what you guys are talking about, Idina Menzel crushes it. It's exhilarating when she starts the chorus and she's running up the stairs, not ashamed to admit. Edit: links d...

Missed the SuperBowl, Got Lost in This
Hey Ryan, cool stuff. Does R8 have tempo mapping? I.e., if I program a click over a free recording, can it build a map? This would be great if so.
