Re: AIR Xpand!2 for $1USD
I believe AIR used to be the exclusive effects and instruments for ProTools before they started to produce them in VST/AU formats today. They are solid products with good sounds and efficient GUI's. Loom is another one of my favorites from the collection, and actually their sampler Structure has be...

Re: AIR Xpand!2 for $1USD
I picked up when it was on sale for $1.00 a few months back. It is a very nice rompler with some actually pretty decent sounds. I don't use it often but there are some patches I have been using quite a bit. The nice thing about it is that it qualifies you for the full AIEP upgrade at around $80.00....

AIR Xpand!2 for $1USD
I generally do not make posts like this as it feels like advertisement but I had a notification from AudioDeluxe that they are offering AIR's Xpand!2 for $1 (normally $99). I watched a couple demos of the product and truthfully based off of what I have seen a dollar can't be beat for a VST plugin li...

Re: Reason 8 - Midi Out with standalone synths?
Good to see you here Jon. I made this short video during the Reason 8 era to demonstrate the process on Windows. It is a step by step and highlights a few of the programs I use to make it happen. There are other concepts to consider that there are other "host" programs that allow you to just open a ...

Re: Kilohearts Toolbox in da house
I am very impressed by this offering. It has a lot of product in one package and really considering 23 devices in all....an affordable effect suite. Once more the fact that solidifies kiloHearts commitment to the Re format are the offering of five (5) devices to the Reason community free of charge. ...

Hi all, Just chiming in to show my appreciation to everyone who's taking the time and effort for all us Nektar owners. It really is appreciated. Is some kind soul still working on the Nostromo mapping? Amen to that if someone is :) I love Nostromo but damn it's too small for my fading eyes o_O I ha...

Re: Casio CZ style Phase Distortion
Well.... in my opinion I find that Thor's Phase Distortion does a pretty darned good gob of sounding like the CZ PD. Of course the programming model of the CZ is quite different than the more traditional analog programming techniques of Thor so you have to work within that box. For the more rare tim...

In short yes through a virtual MIDI cable software however the audio is not available within Reason. You can drive them all day long using the EMI midi device in Reason. If performance is your goal then you are good to go. If you chose to record the two you have a plethora of other options such as h...

Re: Freestyle VST host -feature suggestion
Reason needs to be able to be a master in the Rewire, not just a slave. Solve all the vst solutions wouldn't it. Propellerhead invented it, they should host it. I suppose the argument to counter that would be that if they did what would be the incentive for developers to include it in their DAW? I ...

Re: Freestyle VST host -feature suggestion
It looks nice but for me doesn't look to add much more than I already have. Certainly a little more attractive but not sure it still has the level of control I have with vstHost. Downside to vstHost is it is Windows only. :( Upside.... if you ARE a windows user it is about 99 euro less. ;) http://he...

If it can't/won't be done here I can create a repository at my website CombintorHQ where if the TX files are created in a downloadable zip file you can retrieve the ones you want. If people would be in favor chime in. If not... chime in anyway.

Re: M-Audio Oxygen 61 question
Isn't there a tool to create your own mappings for M-Audio devices? If I recall there was one when I owned one. As it was said earlier Preset 10 is what the remote maps defaults its values to. These have corresponding MIDI CC values by default right? Each preset of course has different assigned valu...

Re: Just noticed these: Korg "Studio" stuff
So I received my Korg nanoKey Studio over the week-end and had a bit of time to work with it. I ordered it through Sweetwater Sound here in the USA and it arrived very quicky… and over the US Postal Service at that. Incredible. But as promised I said I’d give a rundown on my experience with it. At a...

Re: Remote map for M-Audio Axiom Air Mini 32
I'll assume you are modifying a "Other - MIDI Control Surface" template and mapping to corresponding MIDI CC values provided from the Axiom. If so then I would find out which CC assignments are to those buttons and then use a programmer's text editor that recognized white spaces (TABS) and edit thos...

Re: Just noticed these: Korg "Studio" stuff
Funny enough I just received an email from Sweetwater here in the US that the Nano Key Studio is now in stock. This is the one I had been having my eye on. They both look pretty cool but the Key Studio it the one I admire most. It looks like it could be a great fit between my Reason portable set up ...

I messed around and put together a little ditty using nothing but a few patches I made for Nostromo today. Noting special but a demo of sounds in use. The track had only five (5) Nostromo devices and one Dr. Rex Drum loop. No other effects were used other than one Ozone Maximizer. Any other effect i...

Re: Nostromo Synth is landing soon (added video)
I love Nostromo. It is a well laid out synth and find it easy to navigate like Subtractor and Thor. The multitude of waveforms pretty much offer the more familiar tones of typical subtractive synthesis, FM, granular waveforms, chip tones and variations on many natural instruments such as saxophone, ...

Re: They did it again! - ARTURIA releases Synclavier V
I first purchased the V Collection at V3 a few years ago in December. It wasn't a black Friday as I recall because the sale was on for a considerable period (a month or so). At that time I picked it up for $199 USD. Since then they have added at least another 8 instruments or so and taken away one f...

I don't believe the current SDK supports it but will it in a future incarnation? Anyone's guess. My gut feeling is that it might as it gives greater opportunity for products and more sales. Time will tell.

I would love to see Digital Sound Factory take those samples and soundfonts and make an Re or IDT Re out of them. I am sure they could get very close to the functionality of the original units. I own them all myself. I absolutely love the Planet Earth module. It is one of the best collection of ethn...

To take this one step further, as custom displays have automatable targets for values that are determined by the developer these can be controlled by remote technology as well. You can have your controller mapped to some of them. You may not be able to directly assign them by right clicking on the c...
