Re: Announcing Reason 13
Also, where's the mod matrix? They've attached it to all of their instruments since Thor, but now they decide to throw it away? The morph feature interpolates parameters between the two engines. In this context, the dedicated modulation knobs make a lot of sense. They let you easily see how one eng...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
That favorites option for devices is gone, it won't come back The workaround I can imagine from the public information is to save a patch from each of your devices (the init patch perhaps?) and then add those patches to a "favorite list" of each device type. You can see the Favorite Lists on the le...

Re: Controlling parameters with midi cc and remote.
You already have a combinator, I'd route a combi button to the whole lot of parameters and use remote to route one of the buttons of the oxigen to the combinator knob. To my knowledge, Remote doesn't allow you to route one device to multiple controls or vice versal. This is better achieved with a C...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Please get rid of having to hold CMD or CTRL when double-clicking on a parameter or knob, etc., to set it back to it's default value. Fyi you don't need to double click currently. It's a single click with a modifier. I'd be fine with supporting double click as an alternative, but I think both metho...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Reason 12 upgrades are currently selling for $199 with the promise of 13 for free.
So intro pricing seems unlikely unless it's exclusive to current owners of Reason 12.

Re: Logic Pro for$200 or should I upgrade to Reason 13?
I like both Logic and Reason, but it's silly to pretend Logic doesn't have its own longstanding issues that remain unaddressed. Off the top of my head (please correct if any of these have been fixed recently): No plugin search Flaky undo, despite years of incremental improvements No reordering of au...

The stem separation feature probably uses the ANE cores (neural engine).

Re: Lock a control when switching presets
if i am getting it right - the answer for OP's question would be: automate that feature. it will stay at the same value when switching presets in that coresponding RE. It's a feature request, not a question  But either way, automation is not a solution. If you try this, you'll see the au...

Re: Lock a control when switching presets
Bumping this to point out it would let you lock one engine in Polytone while browsing presets for the other one . Some kind of multi-select or table view for this feature would make that easier.
Locking effects sections and wet/dry are still something I’d use daily.

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?
You're accusing them of incompetence when they've been designing music software for years. Doing something for many years doesn't mean you never make mistakes. Been there, done that. I never said it did, but my point is you have no reason to assume incompetence from the design stage is the explanat...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?
What makes you think that are hardcoded tags? Where do you get your insights on how they implement features? I'm a software engineer, have been for the last 40 years, that's where I get my insights :puf_wink: No functionality in the UI of the application to edit/add existing tags and categories mea...

Re: Logic Pro for$200 or should I upgrade to Reason 13?
Logic has a 90 day trial available, so I’d recommend taking advantage of that. It’s excellent software but has its quirks just like Reason. Reason 13 will also be released before the 90 day trial is up, so you can judge the user reception at that point.

It has full keyboard control, which I've wanted for years. I'd say that's something.crimsonwarlock wrote: ↑28 May 2024... and in that case, the new browser has nothing over the current one

Re: Using RE plugins in another DAW is amazing, also a question re latency
The question part is that I still need to work out is if the Reason rack is reporting latency to the external plugin - the only latent plugins I have used are Neptune and Tapefunk, but by design, those don't report their latency to the Reason mixer, therefore are not relevant in this discussion. Do...

A proper tagging system lets you assign multiple tags, so they're not mutually exclusive boxes.

I think you could use Ableton Link if you had two Reason licenses and two computers (or a VM might work). Obviously not ideal.

I suspect you're asking about the sample editor and noticing that the Samples tab was removed from the Tool Window.
From Reason 8 onward, it was moved to "Song Samples" in the left side of the browser.

And the joke's on me, as PUMP is broken anyway. If inserted into any existing project using a variety of other plugins, it instantly silences all project sound. Fyi there's a small bug where if you replace an existing effect device with Pump, the output won't be automatically routed. That might be ...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I would say introducing a dark SSL skin is actually trickier than it might initially appear when you consider the impact on the design of the rack. For visual consistency, a dark SSL skin would probably require dark Mixer Channel and Audio Track devices in the rack (and the Master Section too). Thos...

I mean there are RE's that have alternate skins. Can't remember the names off the top of my head but it's definitely possible. So even if they're not part of the GUI, we could have a switch that toggles light/dark mode somewhere on the mixer. Like on the master section perhaps. Right, Combinator 2 ...

I'm aware of the context. I was just pointing out there's an imperfect solution that is confirmed to be included and seems to have been overlooked in these discussions. It is not overlooked, it is simply not what we are discussing, which is favorite lists for devices. It is not about pre-tagging by...
