Re: DIY rockwool acoustic panels

Okay, so basically, even if I stack 2 slabs of the rockwool available here, which would be 20 cm thick, with a 20 cm airgap behind it, would barely do an ~80% absorbtion down to 200 Hz. That would cost about 200 USD/EUR for DIY 3 panels. Any level of absorption will have a positive effect. My panel...

... you have no reason to assume incompetence from the design stage is the explanation for no user customization. I made it clear, I do have reasons to assume that. You might not agree with them, and yes, I might even be wrong in my assumptions, but that doesn't diminish the fact that I have my rea...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

You're accusing them of incompetence when they've been designing music software for years. Doing something for many years doesn't mean you never make mistakes. Been there, done that. They probably also have a good idea of how many users tend to customize such tags... Why? Reason never had any taggi...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

What makes you think that are hardcoded tags? Where do you get your insights on how they implement features? I'm a software engineer, have been for the last 40 years, that's where I get my insights :puf_wink: No functionality in the UI of the application to edit/add existing tags and categories mea...

1.0.3 was one of the first updates.

This update is 1.2.8, in which there doesn't appear to be any notes yet.
My bad, some devs put last version top, some don't. I updated my initial message.

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

Not a bad design, but a starting point IMO. It is a bad design, because if you are designing a tagging system, the first thing should be 'how do we manage the tags and categories'. Starting from a set of hard-coded tags and categories is basically starting backwards. I still hope that they get this...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

You seem determined to shoot down R13 before it has even arrived. That is a strange assessment of me just pointing out a fact. If you take the tags out of the new browser, you are left with the sidebar in that browser, and that is basically the same as the current browser in R12. I was hyped when t...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

If you're one of the few people who only use their own sounds, you can still tag them in a way that makes sense. Not if the available tags make no sense in the way you work. And, in my case, it is less about sounds, and more about processing presets for FX. Like being able to tag, for example, Reve...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

But reducing a list with 1000 entries down to 100 entries is already a relief. The EQ/fiters tag in the shop reduces the main effects category from 597 items to 197 items, not even close to what you are suggesting  And I'm pretty sure that about half of those are neither EQs nor Filters. And t...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

The whole point is there’s some gems in the FSB you might never find The whole point is that we get a tagging system that we can use in our workflow. So, if I work mainly with my own sounds, a tagging system that is solely aimed at finding stuff in the FSB, is useless to me. This means I get a whol...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

If that categorization is used, it will certainly be useless. Did you ever try to find something in the shop by category? I did - and it worked. :-) Well, at least for simple tasks like "Equalizer". For more exotic devices it is more difficult, of course. You are joking, right? If I select 'E...

1. Will there still be the ability to have your favorites folders containing VST plugins with the images for easy navigation of all your VST's? Nope. The plugins/devices browser no longer has a favorites option. This has been discussed here at length. 2. Is there still the ability to view the Mixer...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

A tagging system is only useful if we can use our own tags. The way we categorize our things, is highly personal. Tags like sad, slow, cool, dark, digital, are completely useless to me.

The bigger difference is that this won't work for devices that don't have preset functionality, and there are quite a few of those.

We're all different. My comment wasn't meant serious, hence the smiley :puf_wink: I actually don't suffer from GAS, like, at all. My simple solution to get there, is treating my software studio as if it were all hardware. From that perspective, owning several things that are mostly doin...

Of course if anyone wants to try this out, you can set one minute of music activity to equal any amount of money you want. Like I said in my case I let one minute of music activity equal 1 SEK. 10 SEK is roughly worth around 1 USD. So, six hours playing around on a weekend 'earns' you the equivalen...
