I've been trying a lot of those VSTs over the last years. I use Fabfilter Pro-C2 and Pro-MB2 in every mix.
Kush Audio did a great job with their Silika compressor.

Mixed, produced and mastered in Reason with the help of some plugins and external synths. Tausendkristall turned out to be a very personal album. Even more than its predecessors this album concentrates on ...

Re: Latest Roadmap (21 March 2022)
In all honesty I don't really care for the development of Reason as in stuff added, I just want the program to be bug free and to work seamlessly. It's still smooth sailing here on reason 10. As for the pushing back of sequencer upgrades I have been let down with that so many times over so many yea...

Re: Reason 12.2.5 Released
I'm still on R10. Are there any real benefits in upgrading? Ever since R12 was released most of the things I've read here sounded like bugs fixed that got introduced with R12. Don’t need hi res, maybe faster overall performance, but it sounds like R12 even needs more CPU anyways. How’s your experie...

Re: VSTs are too small now in Reason 12
VST: Would it be easy to implement, if the VST is behind some kind of "display" in the rack, so that they behave like any other rack device? So, actually the devices are behind a display already in the preview, but its small and you have to click it, that it pops up. I imagine here some kind of "ha...

Re: Is Audiomatic Tape setting a good emulation?
Hi, I'm wondering how good is Audiomatic tape emulation setting to simulate warmth and all that jazz expected from that kind of device. Is there any better alternatives in the RE format ? Thanks ! Have a look at Wavesfactory Cassette: https://www.wavesfactory.com/audio-plugins/cassette/ If you want...

Go through the manual, it is an excellent way to get yourself acquainted with all the different equipment. I wanted to write that, too. Reading the manual from start to finish really helps you to transform your acquaintance with a program/plugin/DAW into a friendship. Literally, there are many thin...

Re: Reason now the eurorack of software?
Have you had a look at Bitwig? To me it feels even more like a virtual modular Powerstation. Much more flexible than Reason and even more user friendly than my Eurorack setup. Still loving both, though. Bitwig, to me, is the DAW version of Buzztracker. It's a sequencer with a modular environment at...

Re: Reason now the eurorack of software?
I would argue that VCV Rack is the closest thing we have to Eurorack in software. And around 2.0 they will release a VST plugin version! Yeah, VCV Rack is essentially a Eurorack emulator, but Reason is the closest you can get to a modular hardware setup in DAW form. No other DAW developer has felt ...

Re: Reason 12 TOMORROW!!!!!!!! Excitement level readings??????
I have been beta testing version 12 for some weeks now. Seems that everythings works fine. But I have to say I am not excited at all. After I checked the last version I decided that I won’t upgrade to version 12. Why? There is nothing in it for me that would justify spending 129 €. Okay the search f...

I had times where I sat down and went through ALL of my synth patches. Literally. Being very critical is important. I prefer asking questions like Do I really have a use for that sound in my musical style? against Will I ever make use of it? . And we are talking synth patches here. Effect patches (e...

Basically this is about modular synthesis but you can transfer almost all of that information into Reason (or any DAW with similar capabilites).

Using Bass Station II, Peak, OP-1 and my modular system together with Reason 10 here. I have everything synced up bit when producing tracks I mostly use the DAW ti record the synths. Hey there, I recently discovered the possibility to use my Bass Station as a MIDI device to control Reason's internal synths. I stumbled updon a Remote Map that has already prepared by Tonal Axis here: https://tonalaxis.wordpress.com/2017/05/15/novation-bass-station-ii-remote-map-and-codec-for-reaso...

I also wanna to buy RME Babyface Pro FS - is this a good interface? Uhhhh - simply put - it's one of the best. I've got the second-gen Babyface Pro and it's been running non-stop, on 24/7, for roughly 5+ years now. It's also built like a tank and can easily be travelled with if you decide to take i...

Re: Is Skeuomorphism Reason's Achilles Heel?
Bitwig's grid is I think the biggest future threat to Reason, as I think it is a complete re-imagining of the Reason rack. There are no extra steps to flip the rack around to connect devices and the signal flow is always clear even when you have very complicated routing. This can be a problem in Re...

Re: Do you create music sitting or standing up?
Sitting when I mix and working inside Reason (although I occasionally get up and walk around in the room to see how the mix resolves from another aural perspective). When working with my hardware synths and my modular system I am standing. So I have a good compromise between both, I think.

Re: Mixing question........levels
Note that I don't need to adjust the Input Gain on the SSL mixer because I already set levels from the very first source - one of the keys to making this approach work across the board. Also note that once you combine signals, such as a drum bus, the levels will naturally be higher - this is normal...
