Re: Best way to send CV/Gate to my hardware synths through Reason?
i've been patching cv into midi #cc instead using reasons midi out instrument otherwise i would be using RBeans CV-O. i'd read the Audient manual to confirm which cables and sockets to use (my interface manual recommends balanced cables) and i think in Reason you'll have to route the signal to thos...

Best way to send CV/Gate to my hardware synths through Reason?
I have a new Audient ID14 MkII interface (so far loving it). I have 2 dc coupled outputs I can use and want to send CV/Gate out through it. I was looking at a couple rack extensions, EXP1 Expression Processor and Expert Sleepers Silent Way Voice Controller. My questions are: 1) how do I actually set...

Re: Looking for DC coupled audio interface...
I have both of these, plus my SL mkIII does two channels of conversion which is the main way I get MIDI to CV. As long as the main thing you want to do is play instruments or typical LFO/Envelope control of the modular from Reason, these are all great solutions. The only limit is no audio rate modu...

Re: Looking for DC coupled audio interface...
the presonus 1824c. It is DC-coupled. you will need a MIDI to CV Rack Extention out of Reason. Robotic Beans has a good one. CV-O is the output. CV-I in the input of you want to bring signals in. I never bring them in, but the output is fun and makes timing things in your euro rack easy. The Crave ...

You know - there is an alternative way.... Arturia KeyStep Pro From the manual .... 10.6.4.CV/Gate Signals: DAW Configuration The KeyStep Pro can be used as a MIDI to CV converter . Send note-related data from the MIDI tracks of your DAW to the KeyStep Pro via USB or MIDI In. If the MIDI channels m...

Looking for DC coupled audio interface...
I'm kinda new to the whole CV modulation thing, but since my audio interface has died, I need to get a new one and was thinking it would be a good time to get a DC coupled version. So I have 2 questions: Which of these would be best for going from Reason players to my hardware CV devices? 1) Univers...

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
I will say that it is a little frustrating that Morpher's movements are not reflected on the instruments parameter dials. Not sure if that is true for all of them, but I tried a few and it seems like the input CVs on the back don't move the front controls. That's exactly how CV is supposed to work....

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
F Yeah! Few notes. Make sure you save a snapshot when you like what it did to a patch. So you press ctrl+mouse click for random and when you like it, Alt+ click - save snapshot and then go to the next cell. If you don't do that you will loose that snapshot when you go back to it. Great way to start...

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
Morpher can take out 8CV signals and you plug them into whatever parameters on a RE you want to randomize (I think you can even chain more morphers for more outputs.. It has randomize button so each time you do that you get 8 random CV signals to mess up your 8 CV parameters on one of noise enginee...

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
I'll thank you now! Thanks. The morpher looks like a useful tool regardless! Though it doesn't do exactly what I'm after. LaunchEon looks incredible but also maybe a little too deep for what I need and expensive. Great to know about these though! Morpher can take out 8CV signals and you plug them i...

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
It's working great. Just downloaded a trial of SH-1 and it all worked. Great solution for what I want right now so thanks a lot!huggermugger wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023That should work just fine.gkillmaster wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023
yay! Thanks so much. I realized that I have CV Freeze so I may try to substitute that in instead of SH-1

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
The suggestions you're being given so far are about causing constant random changes, like having a random LFO modulate the pitch of the oscillator or the filter cutoff. What I think you want is a random patch generator. There are very few Reason devices that can randomize their values with a right-...

Re: Is it possible to randomize a rack extension's parameters?
One thing about working this way is that it isn't intelligent, so you'll go thru plenty of useless patches before you get something decent. You can use the CV amount knobs on the back of the RE to limit the range of change for a parameter (or the Level setting on the random LFO in Pulsar). You can ...
