I used the House Stab preset on the Juno but perhaps turn up the decay and sustain on the envelopes to make it less plucky. Set range to taste (8 or 16).StephenHutchinson wrote: ↑22 Dec 2022Sweetness indeed! I take it you used the default patch on the Juno-106?

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
Finally! No more using RRP in Logic when I also want to use a certain third-party instrument. I briefly fired up Roland’s JD-800 VST3 in Reason and it appears to works like a charm. Cannot wait to make some music without the technical limitations.

I definitely wasn't going to vote for the discontinued PX7, but shouldn't it be a poll option?

Re: May Madness sales 2022
Jumping on the Reason 12 upgrade offer would be a lot easier if there was a time frame on VST3 support etc. R12 hasn't evolved much since it was first released aside from some obligatory bug fixing. Besides, the upgrade cost on sale is pretty much the same as the old default price before it was incr...

Surgical EQing with a narrow Q. All my attempts doing it always end up sounding dull, but I keep hearing so many good things about it. Also, I really don't know how to identity and fix any possible phase issues.

Re: When will you upgrade to Reason 12?
In theory once VST3 is available. For a while it’s the one thing I’ve wanted the most from Reason. Though, in practice the decision to upgrade depends on a few conditions, such as Propellerheads having sorted out the worst of launch issues in version 12. The final version of Reason 11 is delightfull...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived
There’s really nothing for me in Reason 12. High resolution is great but I wouldn’t pay for it alone. I understand that the upgraded Combinator is a big deal, but I have never really learned to fully appreciate it. All my creative energy is focused on the music, so all these customized control surfa...

Because there's a tug of war going on and it's between whether the company wants to satisfy new customers or satisfy old customers. It's hard to do both. The traditional existing customers are probably seen as baggage that's actually preventing the company from being as dynamic as its financial inv...

So much doom in the YouTube comments regarding yesterday's livestream. Everyone appears to have concluded that Reason will become subscription only, even though they've specifically stated that the next full upgrade will be offered as a standalone purchase. It's also the only thing that makes sense ...

Not sure why everyone keeps saying that the shop is buried. Yes it's not at the top of the page but it's not hard to scroll to the bottom and click on shop. Looks and works just like it always has, still shows what 3rd party RE's I have subscribed to. I wouldn't be surprised if the shop link return...

Reason will still offer paid standalone upgrades for future major releases. Isn't that all that should matter to veteran users?

Re: Reason stuff you've wondered why then suddenly realised the answer.
I have to think hard because I've been using Reason for almost 20 years. I think most revelations happened more than 10 years ago, but I also remember being puzzled by varying degrees of red colour inside the midi notes. The little blue what? Click on any instrument in the rack and a blue fr...

Re: Learning Reason: is ignorance bliss?
Applying knowledge with a specific purpose in mind usually works better than just doing it because you can, and being capable of doing it whenever beneficial is better than ignorance, in my opinion. Some of my older tracks were decent, but suffered from my ignorance at the time.

Re: Good way to copy effects to send FX?
Save the individual patches you've dialled in on the various FX devices. Then delete the insert FX devices and create send FX on mixer console by right clicking anywhere in mixer window and select "Create Send FX" for each effect you need. Load the presets you just saved into the new send FX devices...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
Yes, as I mentioned you can all any amount of devices in the insert point AFTER the Stereo Imager (or with a Spider Splitter if using a different filter/EQ), as long as you don't use the Master Compressor or Master Fader (since you won't want anything to follow the final master limiter). Are you re...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
My approach is using the Master Compressor towards the end of a mix, which is how I learned way back in the 1980s on a real SSL - works the same in Reason IMO. Then when I'm ready to export, I simply turn on Ozone Elements which comes after the Master Outputs (so it's post compressor), exactly how ...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
I was asking more about how you wanted to use inserts - I understand your desire to filter the key input, again something I've been a fan of for many years now and I never use the SSL Master Compressor any other way. I want to use mastering FX inserts post bus compression in a typical mastering cha...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
There's a BETTER routing, one I use for my default startup song. The routing in that video uses the output of the compressor to feed the input, which not only induces a batch delay (64 samples) but also a feedback loop of sorts. Ok. Yes and no - what are you trying to accomplish? Basically I want t...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
Correct, and that's how Reason works. Try this simple test. Insert a device, any FX device, into the master insert (make sure nothing else is patched there), and turn on the Master Compressor so it's clearly working. Get a drum pattern or similar playing so that you see the gain reduction meter mov...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
Yes adding gain to the master channel is pertly fine as long as you don’t clip. I wouldn’t be too concerned about it being as loud as -3dBfs though unless you’re mixing analog. There’s isn’t much of a noise floor to fight against in digital. Great  If you're not doing ANYTHING in the mas...

Re: Adding gain on master channel
It seems to me that you are not asking about Mastering so much as "is it ok to be running my Mix at -8db?" Yes, correct. Yes indeed. I assume you are working in Reason therefore everything is in the box. In Analog World, no you don't entirely wanna do that because you have signal to noise to worry ...
