Review: GranulaRe, the first ReFill for Grain
It’s another first for SoftPhonics this week: after “A Massive Reason”, the first ReFill for a VST instrument in Reason (check Mike McKew’s review here), here’s GranulaRe, the first ReFill for Grain, the new granular synth that was introduced with Reason 10. It provides 150 patches and 250 WAV files for mangling, stretching, and chopping to create varied (and often unexpected) textures and soundscapes. It’s a good deal too: only $11/€10!
It’s quite difficult to demonstrate long-evolving textures in a short video, so… it’s a long video: about 35 minutes of me checking out the patches. If you’re in need of new sources for your granular needs, just dive in!
