Welcome to the new ReasonTalk site!
We have been looking so much forward to get this new ship of ours sailing, and here it is! So, if we can steal about 5 minutes of your time we would like to talk a bit about what has happened the past 5 months and how much of what we set out to do has been finished with the new ReasonTalk site.
About 5 months ago we started investigating what it would take to get us to where we would like this place to go. We wanted to expand from being “just” a forum, to being a forum with a bit of sugar on top. Initially, that sugar should be in the form of news, articles and interviews but as with most brainstorming, seeds are planted that later grow into really complex but cool ideas. Complex because a lot of them would require us to write several pieces of software that could support what we wanted to do, including a web-based system to ingest and automate the reconciliation of royalty statements.
So, what’s new?
The most obvious change is the landing page and the fact that we are now publishing authored content. It might be some short news about software and hardware announcements, press releases from developers and artists, interviews with developers, synth-geeks, or even our users! Some of the areas are not yet visible on the site, but more areas and categories will surface when there’s more content. We’re working on this every day and we will work on this continuously. In the end, we just want to have a spot for the new and casual as well as the super-skilled users of Propellerhead Software products to get their fix one way or the other.
In a near future, this place should have:
- News
- Articles
- Interviews
- Editorials
- Tutorials in all shapes and sizes
- Weekly Live streams
- Competitions (including a special, recurring ReasonTalk competition. You’ll hear more about this very soon!)
- ReasonTalk Radio – A site-wide audio player to based on either SoundCloud or Allihoopa
For the tutorials, besides curating the best tutorials we can find there’ll be original content by ReasonTalk as well
Welcome new team members!
To take some of the load off of the team, we brought in 6 new moderators for the forum. This is the time to thank each and every one of them! You all approached this project head first and from day one everything just got better, easier and even more fun to do! So challism, jappe, QVprod, ScuzzyEye, tiker01, and WongoTheSane; Thank you!
To the rest of you, thank’s for making this a fun place to be, even when recurring topics are being debated! 🙂
