(80's vibe synthpop) Summer Of 89

Postby jappe » 09 Aug 2016

Hi all,

this is a tune I intend to include in a record of 80ies inspired music I'm making.

Any feedback most welcome!

----------------------

It's inspired by melodic synthpop from the 80ies and a retrospective visit to my own experiences during that period.

In the later part of the 80ies I studied computer engineering in a small university.
It felt like exactly the right time to study that, many students got offers of employment from IT companies well before they completed their studies.
I accepted an offer I got, thinking I would complete the studies on my spare time.

Still waiting for the right moment to complete them :)

I can see me in the middle of a Sommernacht Party at someone's house grooving to this, in their back garden. It's simple, amplified and easy to obtain - I like that. It's not a hit and won't match Herbert Groenemeyer, Udo Lindenberg or Clowns und Helden - but then I don't suppose it was meant to.

Lovely piece - thanks for uploading... :)

Thank's for the review and music suggestions:)
I actually had to check that German music on the tube, and it sounds great. About german....I really like that language.
I have a german sentence in the vocals of one of my WIPs, for no particular reason really :puf_bigsmile:

I think you could cut a minute or so from the middle; there didn't seem to be enough different happening after a while. Maybe, instead of having the lead synth tune playing on its own it could play at the same time as some of the repeated vocals. But I can hear that you enjoyed putting the song together, which is uplifting.
