Looking for 2 CV REs: delay and mini-combinator

Hello. Two requests, can't find the right RE.

1) I use Pulverizer as my goto for tremelo effects, usually on guitar, but the waveforms are weird - the square doesn't always line up to the groove, and the sine wave never grooves either. What's the easiest way to delay the cv signal?

2) I know someone released am RE that was basically a CV controller, to add knobs within combinators - what was it called?

Thanks all!

1: https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/ ... -repeater/ there are more options, but I like this one as it can be synced to tempo.

There's also a cv delay splitter by Jiggery Pokery i think

Cool, thanks!

Question...is the CV delay doable with Thor?

Not directly. But you can use its LFOs and i think it has a delay knob. I am not sure if it has a direct out on the backside, but you can use the LFO as source in the Mod Matrix and route the output to one of the configurable CV outs. You can also change the amount and modify it with an envelope.

Yes you can. I'll write a short tutorial for it. Wait a moment...

I wanna add that although the free CV8X4 is great there's one downside which is that it only outputs unipolar CV signals. For some purposes you might want a bipolar signal. You can use the (also free) cv line suite processor to convert, or if you want I still have a thor Uni2Bipolar converter patch lying somewhere. If you're interested in that (it converts 4 signals per instance) drop me a PM

Here's a super easy trick to do that with Thor:

(new blogpost, thanks for giving me that idea Martin!)

Its not free, or do i miss something?

I'd suggest a couple of minor changes. First, Thor's Master Volume should be exactly 6 dB, not 6.2 dB as you have it. Second (and more important) the button to turn the delay On/Off should ALSO adjust the output level. As it is now, the output level jumps by 6 dB when you turn the delay off! Take care of both issues with this additional line in the Programmer:

It's not necessary, but I'd control the delay knob directly by the Combinator instead of adding the extra line using Thor's Rotary 1. The main reason for this is so that the Delay knob actually moves and you can read the delay value from it. As it is there's no way to know what amount of delay you're getting…
Let me know what you think:

Yes better as well. I first thought a Thor patch would be ok but the routing is for many people a little tricky. So using the Thor controls is not that important.

Thanks, this is an improved version.

I can imagine some more cool stuff btw. Using a Delay for adding a little randomness to a CV signal for beats.

I like the idea of random or modulated delays to give some variation to the cv signal. Sparks my imagination!

2 CV Re Prototype.

This is an early mock-up, nobody seems to like the GUI currently though.

Nope. Cv line suite costs 9€.

Well this is all very cool - thanks Marco and Selig. I figured there was an CV/Audio/CV solution. I go to bed and wake up to a blog post and a patch!

It's nice to know that once again you don't need an RE to do something, although the level of effort in patching this up shows why there's an appeal in the simple REs. Thanks again.

I'm also pretty sure I never paid for CV line suite. Maybe an introductory offer when it was released? Now it costs €9 - as stated by Loque.

Good to know, thanks for offer - I would mostly use it for unipolar applications (controlling a bunch of filters) so I'm probably good.

D'oh, mistunderstanding, I thought you were talking about the CV8X4. But I'm a bit flabbergasted about the line suite processor. I distinctly remember getting it for free when it was first released... and I assumed it still was. But maybe my memory is messed up, it's been a few years.

no thanks, and by the way, another solution to your problem #1 would be to use this device (which I checked and is still free!):

https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/elements-ds-lfo/

it has a phase control, so you can shift the synced LFO wave around in time to get it to match the groove you want. I don't remember exactly whether to use the phase or the offset button, but one of those does the trick...

Unrelated to this thread and perhaps a little OT but there may be some folks that find this interesting or think it has potential.

Basically think of this as like a ghetto Softube modular but with the advantages of PH's automatic Remote mapping. It is meant to be used with a single Remote mixer style device similar to the Nektar P1. I'm using a Vestax VCM600 with a home rolled Remote map but the example file should work on anything similar with automatic Remote mapping.
