Welcome to Reasonistas and DNA Labs' Hydronexius Workstation ROM Song Challenge.



THE RULES

• Judge's decision is final
• Only 3 winners with no cash alternative.
• Song challenge begins Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015
• Song challenge ends Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 @ 11:59 pm EST
• All entries must be uploaded to the DNA Labs' Hydronexius Workstation ROM Song Challenge SoundCloud Group
• After the closing date, you are not allowed to change, alter or resubmit your entry. Any resubmissions or alterations will result in disqualification
• All entrants, when requested, must be prepared to provide evidence that the rules have been adhered to. This includes providing a copy of the Reason song file to verify that only the DNA Labs' Hydronexius Workstation ROM was used for synth sounds.

What you may use in your song:

• DNA Labs' Hydronexius Workstation ROM Re for all synth sounds
• Any Reason native and rack extension Effects and Utilities (no external plug-ins or hardware)
• Any drums except external plug-ins
• Recorded instruments and vocals (excluding external synths)
• Vocal samples
• Collaboration for any of the above

What you may not use in your song:

• Any synth that is not DNA Labs' Hydronexius Workstation ROM (including Combinators featuring Hydronexius Workstation ROM that include any other synth)
• Any instrument samples (you can use drums samples and samples of Hydronexius Workstation ROM)
• Any programs outside of Reason that generate synth sounds
• Any copyrighted material

THE SUBMISSION
All participant songs must be uploaded to SoundCloud and submitted to the DNA Labs' Hydronexius Workstation ROM Song Challenge group: https: //soundcloud.com/groups/hydronexius-workstation-rom-song-challenge



There will be no submissions thread on the forum so please ensure you upload to SoundCloud and then add your tracks to the group page, ensuring you use your forum and Reason user name so that we can easily identify you.

• Showcasing of Hydronexius Workstation ROM
• Arrangement and songwriting
• Originality and creativity
• Mixing and engineering

THE PRIZES
1st Place - Hydronexius Workstation ROM and all 5 DNA Labs' Refills
2nd Place - Hydronexius Workstation ROM and 3 DNA Labs' Refills of choice
3rd Place - Hydronexius Workstation ROM and 1 DNA Labs' Refill of choice

Currently working on a piece myself. Despite my apprehension and personal bias towards the device my opinion has changed a bit.

i like the k.markov - hydrogen atom entry so far (i know its the only entry lol).
i love the retro jean michel jarre, vangelis kind of ambient vibes he's doing.
actually checked out his band camp page, not bad at all, great music for study etc.
worth taking a look if you enjoy ambient electronic music yeah,

Finally it's done. It's a pretty weird one.
It surprising to see so few entrants for this song challenge, but perhaps it's because there's been a couple of competitions around at the same time.

Of this 3... this is the one I want to place in. I love the bass tones.

It doesn't appear to be the most popular challenge ever but I've had some fun! I went the orchestral route in an attempt to make life hard for myself.
"Humane Fishing" is the result of my endeavours.
