Anyone stuck in the house with a pos test?
I feel like I'm part of history or something.
My daughter had it (13 yr old, almost no symptoms) so is home from school for a week. Half her class has it.
Now I've got it, along with my two useless vaccines... (Imagine how bad if could have been if you didn't have the shots...)
And I tell ye, it's not great.
I tend to get fevers for most illnesses, malaria being the crown jewel so far, but this has lasted for some time. Tonight will be my 4th night with the fever upon me and that's a long one.
Otherwise its a mild sore throat, mild chest gunk, and snot face.
I can still smell though. Last time I couldn't. So maybe the shots are working. ;)

Anyway, in theory I have time to get all sorts of interesting things done but in actuality I'm just sitting around like one of the undead feeling underwhelmed by the latest 12.2.4 update.

I had covid in october 2021 at age 55. There were no vaccines available at that time. All i 've got is "Wish you good luck" from nice laboratory guy.

For a start i had 10 days of heavy fever (cca. 39 degrees) which completely exhausted me and after that, i got 3 weeks of "something" i can't explain - a complete nigtmare, physically and mentally etc. Luckily my lungs were not attacked. My complete regeneration took another few weeks.

I've seen a lot of vaccinated people being infected (different ages). Luckily, ALL of them were out of trouble after few days. Yes, vaccine helps!

We are all going to get infected. It is just a matter of time.

3 jabs and I reckon I had the omni a couple of weeks back.
Never tested. It was cold as fuck outside and testing vans had lines.

I do't have anything to compare it to.
I'm 90% sure I had it in Oct of 2020 at age 46. Full range of lung, fever, loss of taste and smell. Lasted a week n a bit. Was a bad flu cold in effect.
This seems exactly the same but more snot face and less lung.

That sounds like the omicron variant. As it is a immune escape variant the vaccination is less effective but should still help pretty much with keeping you out of the ICU. Omicron preferably infects the cells of the upper respiratory tract and usually does not cause a loss of smell.

p.s.: Don't be fooled by the term "mild infection" as wrt Covid-19 an infection that brings you to the hospital for O2 treatment is still considered "mild". So *knock on wood*, I really hope for your timely recovery and no lasting effects.

Hmm...not really a title. Doesn’t have the right kind of snappiness.
I think I’ll stick w the usual assumptions and hope for the best.

Anyway, thanks for the good wishes and all.
I’m not particularly worried. More just passing time and curious if there are other biohazard types lurking around RT at the mo.

Maybe in the long run we will all get a future variant.

But there's no reason to assume Omicron will be it.

And it remains to be seen what will happen after Omicron waves crest.

It could be that future variants continue the more-contagious/less-deadly evolution.

I've been stuck home since all that Covid began. Don't really need to go anywhere. My business is at home, everything is online or by delivery. Only a visit to the grocery store once a week, I consider it safe. It's time to go for my 3rd revax, and I'm in doubt now that Ο(micron) is outside, whether I will get vaccinated or infected.

Tested negative for COVID but positive for Flu A. Body aches and chills. I suspect I will survive, but for now, I am content to stay under this blanket reading forum posts. Be well.

I work food delivery so I catch everything. My body is virus killing machine. After having the first wave...Omicron was a 2hr laugh about having brain fog.

Get well soon man! I managed to dodge infection so far, but no kids here (otherwise I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have been able to avoid it, all my colleagues with kids have gotten infected eventually)

Sure.

It's already peaked in several countries.

Let us hope the trend continues! 😃

Yeah kids are gross.
Only slightly less gross than the dog, who likes going out to forage for exotic treats after dinner so she can puke it up somewhere in the house in the early morning hours.
But to think that here they tried to get all the kids to comply with masks and hand gel n so on. Hilarious.
So yeah, they bring it all home. Everything.
