Re: The UFO Thread

Disagree. He is very clearly suggesting that his findings are. He's not a noob - he knows very well what he's doing - it's not a language barrier. And as the article explained, his "scientific method" is about as scientifically sound as pink flying elephants. This is not how science works, and I'll wager his "findings" won't stand up to scientific scrutiny by peer reviewed follow up. But look forward to further discussion in this thread.
I'm not completely sold on his way of communicating things.EnochLight wrote: ↑26 Jul 2023Disagree. He is very clearly suggesting that his findings are. This is what Avi actually said in NYT:(linked in the Engadget article[/url])"Last month, theoretical physicist Avi Loeb made headlines with the sensational claim that tiny spherules recovered from the bottom of the ocean were probably of alien origin. “It’s most likely a technological gadget with artificial intelligence,” he said to The New York Times"
So IMO he doesn't claim to to have found a technological gadget. He's referring to that IF/b] he'll find something of alien origin, it's more likely to be a technological gadget rather than biological findings""Last month, Dr. Loeb led an expedition to retrieve fragments of the fireball off the western Pacific seafloor. On June 21, he claimed that he had. And such discoveries, he says to the chagrin of many of his colleagues, may be the way scientists find evidence of extraterrestrial life.
“Not biological creatures, the way you see in science fiction movies,” Dr. Loeb said. “It’s most likely a technological gadget with artificial intelligence.”"
The way I see this, is that it's absolutely sensational - whether it's an insane conspiracy of credible whistleblower & Co lies or a conspiracy of a lot of ppl keeping crashed UFO's unconfirmed for 85 years.
Alas, afaik Swedish state controlled, tax funded mediajappe wrote: ↑27 Jul 2023The way I see this, is that it's absolutely sensational - whether it's an insane conspiracy of credible whistleblower & Co lies or a conspiracy of a lot of ppl keeping crashed UFO's unconfirmed for 85 years.
Coulthart has made up his mind: "We are not alone":
Extremely exciting development. For the news-addict it's a win-win whatever the resolution will be. It's like a lottery with only two tickets, you either win a million $ or a trillion $
Alas, afaik Swedish state controlled, tax funded media basically forgot to even mention this, even after the hearing.
And we don't know who the villains or the good guys are yet
Tiny Montgomery wrote: ↑28 Jul 2023As with Russiagate, which became conspiracy theory for mainstream liberals, the thing that bothers me is that this all seems very Pentagon / CIA driven. These people are not our friends and it actually disgusts me how many people on what used to be called the left think that the CIA and the FBI are allies because of Trump or whatever shit Rachel Maddow is getting them to believe this week..
/Mod note: this thread is welcome to continue with alien conspiracy theories and UFO's all day long, but keep politics out of it. Thanks
You were "moderated" for breaking the forum rules. Again. But please, continue (with your thread)...
^^ THIS ^^Tiny Montgomery wrote: ↑28 Jul 2023So even though we dont agree on much Enoch was right earlier in the thread to question the provenance of videos being shared - whether that's by me, him or anyone else - because we are all getting our strings pulled somewhere along the line from our favourite you tubers, twitter accounts, political pundits etc..
/Mod note: SERIOUSLY? Do I have to shut this thread down or start banning people for ignoring my very clear warning above?? Come on, people. KEEP THE POLITICS OUT OF THIS FORUM. Christ.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑28 Jul 2023Well said, Tiny. it is obvious to anyone with even basic understanding of the world that liberals are not left of anything but only left of far right.
The quoted comment comes from the author of a book (also turned movie) called "Mirage Men".
It is interesting how the wellness industry was co-opted by the far right.
But.. Would you believe it more if space aliens land near a tiny village in Mozambique, saying "Take us to your leader" in Swahili, instead of English and in DC?
It is not, according to that very cool headed and reasonable past event in DC, not too far from the Whitehouse lawn. No one can delete what happened, but are free to pretend it never happened. In record, under oath, forever, until the next solar flair, the next black swan or black rain, or whatever comes first...
At the end of the day, that's pretty much what needs to happen. Over 6.8 billion smartphones in the world, billions of 4K video recording in the hands of the average (first world) citizen, and over 2.8 billion people flying in commercial air flights every year. Yet all we have is grainy black and white video and people who know someone that told them there's aliens here and we have alien tech.
