These are dope. Great, compact, and straight forward.
Am I the only 1 that thinks there should be a line marking the center of the stereo field on the stereo display? Something like this? The way it is right now, I cant tell the difference between center and slightly off-center.

Re: Saturation Knob on Electronic Drums?
Here's my favorite creative thing to do with the Saturation Knob. In a combinator, program the knob to a rotary. Program the same rotary knob to a volume knob to adjust for the gain in volume. Use a cv follower on the saturation knob rotary. It's like a dynamic distortion combinator. Clean drum loop...

Re: Weird Parsec spread behavior
By partials do you mean the underlying sine waves? If so, i dont see how that would result in the behavior I get...? Kind of...Every sound is just a collection of sine waves. The fundamental, and then the added harmonics (in additive synthesis, a harmonic is called a partial). As far as I know, a s...

Re: Weird Parsec spread behavior
Probably because it's not a conventional spread function. Since it's an additive synth, it pans individual partials.

Re: Chopped and screwed
It originated from playing vinyl records at a lower pitch. If your talking about just screwing only vocals, than just transpose the pitch. If you are looking for full beats that have the screwed sound it'll take a little more effort. Maybe make an entire beat at midtempo around 85-90 bpm. From there...

Re: Do you use the 14:2 mixer?
I use it in every combinator. Which in turn means every sound. There are so many upsides to it. New instruments are auto-routed to the mixer in combinators. Faders with visual LEDs. Pan and Volume CVs. The broad band EQ section. I use the master volume for sidechain automation. You can always turn a...

Re: Parsec 2 is in the shop!
I just realized there is no stereo spread on the unison...That is a bit of a let down. That's not correct, there is a spread function and you can spread the unison really wide with it. What is really amazing about the spread function is, that it is 100% mono compatible, which you doen't get with an...

Re: Parsec 2 is in the shop!
I'm a little mystified by all this whining about not being able to trial Parsec 2. If you've got Parsec, then you know basically what you're dealing with. The new features on P2 are well explained, and it shouldn't be too hard to see that they amount to a whole bunch of goodness. If it were an enti...

Re: Parsec 2 is in the shop!
Look at Props getting all 2016 on us. Looks quite impressive. Does the spread work at all times now? Is the CPU similar to before?
Too bad I can't try it. Hopefully it'll be a $20 upgrade in November.

I couldn't figure out a way to reproduce the boomerang either. Maybe we can call in JiggeryPokery to steer us in the right direction.bsp wrote:I think the Boomerang "analog" mode sounds marvelous. I was not able to replicate this with Titus/Steerpike (or any other delay RE).

Re: RPDistort Effect
It's really solid and you gotta love a distortion with a dry/wet knob. I can throw it on any kind of signal and find something that works. The only downside is that it takes a little more time to program because there are so many options. I usually end up with the best possible result though. And th...

Re: Attn dub producers
It's been awhile since I've made some dubs, but I used to love doing it. Any unsynced delay with breakouts are your best friend here. Remember that they were performing all those analog tape delays/flanges/FXs in real time. Don't be afraid to crank the feedback higher than usual for a few bars. As f...

Re: Chenille questions
I think I roughly understand the difference between IDL and BDD, if I'm wrong someone will correct me. This isn't meant to be a technical explanation, just an ELI5. The difference is only audible when modulating the delay, i.e. speeding it up or slowing it down, as compared to the original signal. ...

Re: What is your top 5 rack extension and why
Distributor--Brilliance comes from simplicity. This simple device is so powerful that it should probably be included with Reason. If you have this already, using this on Thor patches will change your life. Paste 8 copies of that Thor patch (making small changes to each copy) into a combinator, trigg...

can this actually make a song better? That depends on who you're collaborating with. Assuming there's no sarcasm in your response... let's say you have an amazing collaboration. Yes, that's just it, but it can be used for non-live situations as well. I've connected my iPhone to my audio card, so now I can record the output of Figure in Reason in real-time. There are quite a number of Link-enabled programs on iPhones/iPad that can be used this way, so it makes it really eas...

Re: Where to start?
EDS06 looks pretty interesting as well, and won't break the bank! EDS06 would be my ideal weird percussion machine, but tuning samples by ears alone is time consuming. I wish I could just choose the note. I know this is not a deal breaker for most people and some percussion sounds aren't tonal, but...
