You can save $16 if you buy it at JRR Shop, using the discount code "GROUP".

Tape Delays?
I have several delay plugins, though only three that are formally presented as tape delays. Does Reason's "The Echo" cut it for tape delay or do you prefer a third party VST?

Re: Do you get a lot of use out of the Reason players?
Anyway, i think my favorite player is Delta. It's a really interesting approach to a device, and it can do a lot. If you're a Digital systems geek that likes to tweak stuff and like the aspect of a circuit board Delta has brings a bit of the feel from my old college IC classes (computer arquitectur...

Unless you're running Reason 12.5 or later, you can't use VST3.

R11 came with a Suite version, but not R12. Did you own R11 Suite and then upgrade to R12?

Another vote for Inspiral. It's like an assortment of toppings to put on a good pizza.

Re: Looking for interesting and unusual melody idea generator
I dig Players in general, and algorithmic composition Players in particular. But Aggregate is just too dense with controls and fiddly to work with. It's one of the few Players I don't own.

The progressions it comes up with are legit sounding, not random. Just be sure you're in a Major or Minor scale.

ChordSQ Feature Request
ChordSQ is pretty great, especially with a recent update that lets you generate progressions from scratch. One feature I'd like to see added is a global 'rate change' for the duration settings. Just add an option in the edit dropdown to either double or halve the durations of all steps. Changing ste...

Re: Looking for interesting and unusual melody idea generator
Personally, I would say Phrase is the most powerful, Pattern Mutator is the most useful, and QNG is the most fun.

Re: Looking for interesting and unusual melody idea generator
Great to understand what differentiates them. I was wondering about it and this clarifies a lot of things. Thanks so much! It does make me wonder how ChordSQ would compare to Phrase Key. They seem similar. ChordSQ is sort of a hybrid of Phrase and Reason's ChordSequencer. ChordSQ is mainly purpose ...

Re: Looking for interesting and unusual melody idea generator
Phrase is a little more finicky to program than your average Player, but it has tremendous power (and a ton of presets covering areas like arpeggiation, chord progressions, rhythm gtr/piano, melodic patterns, etc). Unlike QNG, PM, or Evolution, Phrase requires realtime note input. It's kind of like ...

Re: Do you get a lot of use out of the Reason players?
My favorite player is Sequences. I wish it had a CV in that would change the step length. I also wish you could do 128 steps, but you can cheat that by automating the pattern change. All and all I wish all players had more CV IOs. I'm not sure what you mean by step length, but if you put Sequences ...

Re: Transport triggered devices running out of sync
I remember this being a problem when R12 was first released. The Browser would revert to all folded or to all unfolded. It was fixed in a subsequent update.MirrorEyEs wrote: ↑24 Jan 2024

Re: Transport triggered devices running out of sync
I've never had this problem, though I use a lot of Players and pattern devices and have done since forever. But I tested your bug problem in BeatMap, Propulsion, Bassline Generator and Drum Sequencer, and all four sync to the meter instantly when I playback from anywhere in the bar. I deliberately c...

Re: Beat Map and Drum Sequencer Note Lock
It's not a perfect solution, but Delta can do the note reassignments easily enough, and you can save and recall different Delta maps for various kit configurations so they're easy to recall.

Re: Create an envelope like Europa in Thor Synth
You can set the Global Envelope in Thor to loop, and also to ignore BPM sync so that it has any rate you like. But you won't have the ease of setting the loop length in Hz like you do in Europa. You have to adjust the stages of the ADSR to make the total loop length.

Re: Gates to notes
AutoLatch is brilliant for converting triggers into gates, and otherwise modifying gate lengths. I use it often to 'humanize' the output from Players whose gate lengths are static. And as CrimsonWarlock points out, the features of AutoLatch are absent from Delta. Delta offers no control over gate ti...
