Re: Are you in control of your own thoughts, actions and decisions?
My bowel tells me I need to poop right now, but I'm not going to just out of spite for biology telling me what to do. How does that fit into the mix? Spite, like all other emotions, is a chemical process of the brain. And, as such, is dependent upon physics. Both your biology and your rebellion aga...

Re: Serial Parallel Effects Mixer is in the shop
Stephane, A sample file is attached. I use a template with a lot of stuff in it, but I stripped out all of the extra junk just to make sure something else wasn't compounding the effect. Anyway, this file still pops for me when I click the Mute button or insert a Return cable. It will be interesting ...

Re: Serial Parallel Effects Mixer is in the shop
Stephane, I placed a Line Mixer 6 in serial before the SPEM so I could observe its Mute button behavior. The Line Mixer's Mute does not pop audibly, but to me, it also seems like it might fade more slowly, but that might be my imagination. I tried operating a 41.1k sample rate, but SPEM's Mute butto...

Re: Serial Parallel Effects Mixer is in the shop
Hi Jon, The mute action is already in a slight fade of about 10 ms, but not the plug one. Have you compared to the line mixer 6 mute button ? At what sample rate do you work ? With ASIO ? Sorry, Stephane, I didn't notice your answer before I answered Carly. I am using an ASIO driver (PreSonus) set ...

Re: Serial Parallel Effects Mixer is in the shop
Carly, The "happening live" part is what I hope can be fixed. That is how I wish to use this device — adding or removing serial effects seamlessly during a live tweaking session. Worst case, I'll need to do a little extra thinking up front to decide which effects I might want employ in a particular ...

Re: Serial Parallel Effects Mixer is in the shop
Stephane,
I don't know if it can be done, but is it possible to suppress the pop that is often heard when you plug a cable into a Return jack or press a Mute button? Maybe encapsulate those actions in a slight fade? If so, it would be a perfect device!

Gak, you seem to be boiling with anger lately. Maybe it would help to share what's going on that is making life so miserable. I would be willing to listen. I'm not sure I can help, but I would listen. Dude......................seriously. It's NOT that serious. In honestly thought that people would ...

Re: Revolution Virtual Surround is in the shop!
I really dig this rack extension, and it was *easily* worth the purchase price. But does anyone know if the conditions during the recording of the audio for the impulses would be close to an assumption of dry air at ~sea-level & 20°C (68°F) for a speed of sound of 343 meters per second? Since the d...

Re: Feedback generator?
I just discovered today—after eight years—that the Feedback setting in Scream makes pretty gnarly feedback, but you have to turn up P1 and P2 to hear it. At its default setting, no feedback.

Re: It seems SoundCloud isn't going to last a lot longer.
I guess I am the only person who doesn't have a giant problem with SoundCloud. Is it worth the the $4.71 I am paying them every month? I don't know. I like checking my stats and seeing the one play per 1 to 2 weeks.

So if I understand this correctly, do not plug a USB 2.0 audio interface into a USB 3.0 port?

For what it's worth, I've determined that Little LFO provides a more reliable clock pulse at narrow pulse widths than Shape.

Re: Anyone else kinda wish we didn't get VST support?
I wish there was a way to do this with REs (disabling) without deleting them from your computer. What I think would be even cooler would be a way to save a set of enabled REs/VSTs in templates. Then you could call up your Mastering template, or song writing template, or your 'ALL' template, or what...

Re: Anyone else kinda wish we didn't get VST support?
Yup, you're right, I remembered you could disable via the Reason Plugin List Window Thingy last night. It's a bit clunky though: Disable brings up a modal confirm dialog. Why?! If one presses it by mistake—which is pretty hard to do—it's still going to take a click to dismiss the confirmation and n...

Re: I Need a Clock
New discovery! I downloaded the trial of Shape, Rob Buse's LFO thingy and I am using it as a pulse generator. One of the most, maybe THE most basic setting, is SQ1, a simple square wave.Shape also has a "self-run" mode like the Matrix. By positioning the Start and End markers at different points rel...

Re: I Need a Clock
Yes, you had the Matrix hooked up to the Step the same way I did, and for the most part, this is fine. Step's velocity, repeat, mode, rest and tie settings are still adjustable. You do lose three things using the Matrix vs. the PSQ-1684 as a clock for the Step : 1. Gate width 2. The ability to run i...

Re: I Need a Clock
I assumed you want to sync to an extern hardware device. But if you stay completely inside Reason why not use the built in tempo? All REs should automatically run in sync with the tempo, even if the sequencer is not running. Step Note Recorder will not run without the Reason Sequencer running or an...
