Its not normal to have any dropouts in Reason at Intel macs when you work with browsers or finder.
Did you use setting in presences "play Reason background"?

Should this "play Reason background" setting be set to ON or OFF for Intel Macs?

Awesome, thank you. I am not in a huge rush but I am having issues with audio tracks in Reason on my current iMac mid 2011. I think 9.5 years is long enough for a computer especially with the broader set of productions I plan on doing.

I hope that optimization is coming soon.
