Re: horizontal piano roll
You can buy one of those monitors that can rotate 90 degrees (from landscape mode to portait mode, iykwim) and then when you need the piano roll in horizontal orientation you can rotate the monitor. All the labels will become harder to read but you'll have the piano roll the way you like it. When y...

Re: horizontal piano roll
I'd find usefull to have option to rotate the piano roll from vertical representation to horizontal It's not something I'd use but you can have the prize for the most interesting feature suggestion of the week. You might also be amused to hear that I think the current piano roll is "horiz...

Re: horizontal piano roll
No offense vrbi but u're in the 0,000001 percent of users that need this well, then it's not for you and you don't need to turn people down for their needs. it's just an idea, that might help some. if it finds its way to be done in Reason, it's for those who use it. there's a reason why some softwa...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Hi, is there any chance to contact development team while they're working their magic on a new interface and functionality? For years I have suggestion for them - to make paino roll switchable from vertical to horizontal orientation. This would help tremendously when working with MIDI manually, not...

horizontal piano roll
hello, I'd find usefull to have option to rotate the piano roll from vertical representation to horizontal - not only it's more easily readable in chromatical order but (for me personally, at least) I see the beat subdivions more clearly, when working with MIDI. Yes, I've come a long road from track...

Re: can you sidechain reverb (or any FX) when it's used as a send FX?
I'm assuming you want to use sidechaining to duck the reverb when an instrument plays? If so, it's an odd request if used on more than one instrument at the same time because the ducking will happen for the total reverb sound even if only one instrument crosses the threshold. Still, yes you can duc...

can you sidechain reverb (or any FX) when it's used as a send FX?
Hello, can you help me figuring out how to sidechain reverb effect - I've used it (perfect plate) as a send effect to save som CPU, because I'll be using it on more tracks than one - but now I can't get my head around the issue how to make the sidechaining properly, is it actually possible on the se...

Re: USB mic aggregate - can I set different input & output at the same time?
You need to open the Audio Midi Setup Utility for your computer and create a new aggregate device that contains all the input and output devices you wish to use together. It will look very much like the screen shot of GarageBand you have posted. thank you for the help, but that's exactly Audio Midi...

USB mic aggregate - can I set different input & output at the same time?
hello, I know now Reason at the time cannot use more than one input/output (which is stupid) - when I want to use microphone to record vocals - own two USB mics wich I can put through aggregate device in AudioMIDI setup - but then there's no output for monitoring, you can't sing to the song. my setu...

Re: unwanted thumps and thuds in exported songs
all right, this was bit tedious - tried to do all above mentioned - different output rates, resolutions, bits and bats so it took sweet time to finish all the testing and overall result seems to be - the culprit was: Ample Sound VSTs :( As it was causing plate-like echoes I wrongly suspected the rev...

Re: unwanted thumps and thuds in exported songs
hello, please, can someone explain to me why Reason12 always makes echoed thumps na thuds and different hits at the beginning of my exports? As for the thuds and and different hits, is it happening when you're playing directly from Reason or just on the exported file? What have you got going on the...

unwanted thumps and thuds in exported songs
hello, please, can someone explain to me why Reason12 always makes echoed thumps na thuds and different hits at the beginning of my exports? (and also after the song is exported?) doesn't matter if I export loop/song/wav/aiff/mp3 - it always does something that sounds like reason is feeding somethin...

(depeche like) Babi Babi - my son's first song
Hello, accidentally recorded with a phone my 2,5yr son singing made up silly tune about grandmother ("babi") - so I've made it into a song - completely in Reason. It took all my creative reserves and I tried to do my best at mixing and mastering, which I know nothing of - so constructive criticism i...

Re: automation values - pitch bend numbers/tones
Dealt with this last month. Pitch bend ranges of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 are all nicely divisible from 8192 (which is close enough for me). Then you have reoccurring math you can memorize. it's just pitty you need more often thirds, fifths and sevenths in music ;) nevermind, I'll swim through that in the end.

Re: automation values - pitch bend numbers/tones
oh, that is so unfortunate. don't know if I'm just having fantasies right now but I swear - some long time ago - I saw pitch bend wheel being able to be set in two modes: as bending wheel or a stepper - i.e. fluent changing of the parameters VS changing them by exact steps (semitones). just don't re...

automation values - pitch bend numbers/tones
hello, just stumbled across inconvenience when editing pitch bend automation: my pitch bend wheel range on Thor is set to 5 semitones, and the recording says it is value of 8191 units (don't know what units exactly this value represents) - so when pulled all the way up, the max number is 8191. not e...

Re: can Mimic export separate individual slices as wav? - how to master them separately
You can still copy the long original sample to all slots, switch to Multi Slot and adjust the start/end makers to exactly one slice per slot. This way you can use multi out without changing notes. You will still have to double mimic for 16 slices and rearrange the notes for the second mimic (the se...

Re: can Mimic export separate individual slices as wav? - how to master them separately
Sorry, I think I'm still probably misunderstanding. If you were able to export the slices to edit, then you wouldn't be able to continue working on your song with its current approach of using slice markers on a single wav in Mimic. Currently, the RE SDK doesn't support REX, but it sounds like mayb...

Re: can Mimic export separate individual slices as wav? - how to master them separately
I'm asking whether there is a simple "export slices" button/option No, there isn't. I don't think RS are very familiar with modern sampling. Mimic is OK but it could be a whole lot better. omg, this surprises me  exporting presets, settings, samples etc. were fundamental part of every machin...

Re: can Mimic export separate individual slices as wav? - how to master them separately
It doesn't look like you have any effects applied? Unless I'm misunderstanding, you could just edit the wav file that you have, right? You could do that in Reason's sequencer. Then load that edited wav into Mimic after your edits. You could edit just the regions of the slices to reimport a single w...

Re: can Mimic export separate individual slices as wav? - how to master them separately
Have you looked into the 8 stereo separate slot outputs on the back panel? I don’t know how you’re doing things exactly, but that’s what these outputs were made for! The user guide should cover all this in depth if you want to explore that route. those are for multi slot - unfortunately, I made who...

can Mimic export separate individual slices as wav? - how to master them separately
hello, almost finishing a song and stumbled across problem I didn't anticipate earlier - need to correct/master individual drum samples (bd, hh, sd...) that were used from one long wav, sliced in Mimic in Slice Mode - so it goes all under one fader. I presume better way would be to export them indiv...
