Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?
If you're one of the few people who only use their own sounds, you can still tag them in a way that makes sense. Not if the available tags make no sense in the way you work. And, in my case, it is less about sounds, and more about processing presets for FX. Like being able to tag, for example, Reve...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
It won't be the 'next best thing', it will be the 'exact same thing' we have now in R12.

Re: Announcing Reason 13
But reducing a list with 1000 entries down to 100 entries is already a relief. The EQ/fiters tag in the shop reduces the main effects category from 597 items to 197 items, not even close to what you are suggesting  And I'm pretty sure that about half of those are neither EQs nor Filters. And t...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?
The whole point is there’s some gems in the FSB you might never find The whole point is that we get a tagging system that we can use in our workflow. So, if I work mainly with my own sounds, a tagging system that is solely aimed at finding stuff in the FSB, is useless to me. This means I get a whol...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
If that categorization is used, it will certainly be useless. Did you ever try to find something in the shop by category? I did - and it worked. :-) Well, at least for simple tasks like "Equalizer". For more exotic devices it is more difficult, of course. You are joking, right? If I select 'E...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
1. Will there still be the ability to have your favorites folders containing VST plugins with the images for easy navigation of all your VST's? Nope. The plugins/devices browser no longer has a favorites option. This has been discussed here at length. 2. Is there still the ability to view the Mixer...

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?
A tagging system is only useful if we can use our own tags. The way we categorize our things, is highly personal. Tags like sad, slow, cool, dark, digital, are completely useless to me.

The bigger difference is that this won't work for devices that don't have preset functionality, and there are quite a few of those.supersmarter wrote: ↑25 May 2024The difference is that you won't see pretty pictures in the browser.

Re: Trying out a new system to keep GAS in check
We're all different. My comment wasn't meant serious, hence the smiley :puf_wink: I actually don't suffer from GAS, like, at all. My simple solution to get there, is treating my software studio as if it were all hardware. From that perspective, owning several things that are mostly doin...

Use Pongasoft's free A/B switch to route audio through and around 4Dyne, then automate the switch.

Re: Trying out a new system to keep GAS in check
Of course if anyone wants to try this out, you can set one minute of music activity to equal any amount of money you want. Like I said in my case I let one minute of music activity equal 1 SEK. 10 SEK is roughly worth around 1 USD. So, six hours playing around on a weekend 'earns' you the equivalen...

Re: Any sign of May Madness sale?
But it looks great, so I won't complain :-) Admittedly, Ekks's layouts are the best of the bunch. His stuff looks spectacular. However, that level of graphics gives the idea that the actual algos inside are on the same level, which tmo they aren't. I was very impressed with the looks of Amalgam, bu...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Here's hoping for a 13.x update that finally addresses the main mixer. Not holding my breath, though. Here's another perspective: having both the blue and dark layout (besides the light one) meant they had to make two new color versions for the mixer to honor this request. So, taking out the blue t...

Re: Any sign of May Madness sale?
That being said, I have way too many REs, several of which I didn't spend enough time with before buying, and I would not buy them now if I could do it over again. The cost of G.A.S. In fact, I think this is the first MM/BF since 2020 that I have not purchased anything! I'm actually pretty pi...

Re: Any sign of May Madness sale?
First time I'm actually regretting a RE purchase. I trialed Ekss TapeEcho in the past, but couldn't remember exactly why. So, I couldn't trial it now, and it is nicely priced this sale, so I bought it anyway. Have now played around with it and found that it is not that special and the additional cho...

I'm not sure why you're so insistent on arguing that my entirely good faith attempt at pointing out a partial workaround for some people is totally irrelevant. I understand where you are coming from :puf_wink: The issue, at least for me, is that any non-custom alternative is in no way a work-around...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I'm sure it'll be fine. Based on what? All the available (and factual) information points to the opposite. Mattias stated clearly that devices cannot be tagged by users. I'm pretty sure that if we could somehow use the new browser window for that, or we could have favorite lists of devices in the n...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I still see the favorites there so your lists will still work regardless. Do you guys even read the ongoing discussion  This has been explained several times now: The favorites lists are inside the new browser, the new browser does NOT contain devices, the devices are in the left side-panel,...
