Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

If you don't like 'em, don't use 'em. It's not compulsory. ... and in that case, the new browser has nothing over the current one  You seem determined to shoot down R13 before it has even arrived. Not sure why you feel the need to do that but be assured that no-one will give a fuck if you ...

Re: Using RE plugins in another DAW is amazing, also a question re latency

Furthermore, all the players are fully functional. So I am able to use Reason's Chords and Arps and Bass players with literally any sound from any Factory synth or RE, right there as a regular AAX/VST/AU instrument plugin. The players have been my favourite part of Reason for quite a while now. I'v...

Re: PlayDFAM

I still find it a bit odd that Moog don't put MIDI on that range of products. They sell it in a desktop box but it only really plays nicely with a modular rig or with one of the few controller keyboards that have CV output. In the meantime Behringer clones 'em, adds MIDI and USB and sells them for a...

Re: Recommendations for a mini-pc?

You haven't said how you PC died. Given that it was self-built is there anything that can be reused to make a new one? You might get away with replacing the motherboard/CPU/RAM and maybe the boot disk.

Re: Does anyone actually benefit from instrument tags?

Some tags are more useful than others. Things like dark, soft, thick, slow, deep are all sensible examples to me, especially when I consider them along with categories. Slow Strings, Deep Bass, Soft Pluck etc. Other are more on the daft side. Digital, melodic, cool etc. Occasionally I'll fire up Ana...

Re: Trying out a new system to keep GAS in check

It would probably increase my spend. I'd keep using it as an excuse to buy something - "Oh hey, I've accumulate 200 squids of pretend cash. Let's shop!" Yeah I can see how it might not work for everyone. And really I'm not even sure it works for me yet. But I thought I should give this approach a t...

Re: iZotope Neutron Elements Free

I know what you are saying. I honestly have no idea how up to date my various iZotope things are or what level they are at. I do know that I have several versions installed which, given that they install the main thing plus every processor within that thing, meaning I have about half a zillion iZoto...

Re: USynth DRIVE updated: Last Month for Free (before June 14)

I already had the free version but I have not used it beyond the initial "play with it" thing. For me it's less interesting than their bass and drum offerings, maybe because a synth can make so many hugely different sounds whereas bass and drum sounds are very samey. But, despite that, I did recentl...

I haven't finished a song in ages. Crank up Reason most every day. This is my teenage dream and no lousy so and so on some interweb chat board is going to change that. P.S. The blue thing is just down to inflationary pressures. The price of blue pixels has increased way more than the average price rise for intangible things. There is a severe shortage of blue, mostly caused by the tendency of AI art generators to draw too much sky and ocean. I don't think it's fair to...

It really is a cracker. They’ve got a whole load of different models. I was in for the Ram’s Head. I gave it a spin yesterday but it left me kinda confused. I don't have much experience with heavily distorted guitar tones, but why does it have to increase my signal volume so much? When my line inpu...

Re: Reason going "Live"

I'd love a clip launcher in Reason but only for composition and studio recording. Since the R12 debacle I would never trust Reason in a live situation. Reason used to be rock solid but I just don't think they have a sufficiently stable platform any longer.
Other opinions are available.

Re: Announcing Reason 13

I imagine the whole RS team will be working their socks off right now, trying to balance Superbooth requirements with the extra workload that an imminent new release brings. So, yes, I'd expect them to be prioritising Superbooth and then jumping onto the Beta stuff straight afterwards. I do agree th...

Hello Today I was talking to some musician friends and couple of them unanimously agreed that when panning vocals, backvocals, instruments and … to the right they feel farther away and when doing the opposite(pan to the left) they hear and feel(perceive) closer to the listener . I never felt this w...

Re: Is it safe to uninstall R11-Suite?

I'd suggest just keeping it on your machine. It doesn't exactly take up much space. Nah, I don't keep software installed that I don't use anymore. I also had several other DAWs installed, but those are getting removed one by one as well. I only keep the previous major version of Reason installed to...

I've just bought Synthesizer V. https://dreamtonics.com/synthesizerv/ I've been playing with the free version for some time but I wanted more control and the new ARA extension. It's pretty good, easily the best in its field (for now). Not as good as a decent vocalist but decent vocalists can be hard...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

One thing I'm surprised hasn't been done yet is an AI program that takes your loop and makes an arrangement out of it, while adding ear candy. I find making risers, stutters and transitions boring and tedious at times. I can't remember what it's called but there is a Max 4 Live device that sort-of ...
